Anyone got a good cleric/monk build? Has to be able to survive in a low magic world without kamas or dev crit.

Was looking to be more monk than cleric, not sure what the 3rd class should be.

Thanks I like the Shadow Cleric by Zhoreb. He ends up Monk 20/Cleric 15/SD 5.

Cut and pasted because I'm not the best with links

If you're looking for a PvP champ...you'd better skip to another topic. But none the less, I really enjoy playing this character.

He's fast, he's agile, he can Hide in Plain Sight and his ability to Dodge is of Epic proportions. With Cleric Buffs he can even deal a fair amount of damage using only fists and feet.
His tactics in combat are fairly simple:
(Buff buff buff)
sneak, knockdown, score a few hits, knockdown, score a few hits etc etc; or
sneak, knockdown, harm, kill; or
sneak, harm, kill; or
Prepare Silent spells, cast silence on self, and run close to magic user, or knock him down with silence on. You are faster, he won't get away. And if something does go wrong....RUN!!

This is how I plan to level the character (lvl 18 atm)

Race: Human
Alignment: Any Lawful
Domains: Any (I chose Trickery and Magic)
Start with these ability scores:
STR 10
DEX 16
CON 10
WIS 16
INT 14
CHA 8

Increase WIS at lvl 20 and 36. Increase DEX at the other levels.
lvl Class Feats
1) MONK Dodge, Mobility
2) MONK
3) MONK Weapon Finesse
4) MONK
5) CLERIC
6) CLERIC Weapon Focus Unarmed Strike
7) CLERIC
8 CLERIC
9) MONK Extend Spell
10) MONK
11) MONK
12) MONK Silent Spell
13) ShadowDancer
14) ShadowDancer
15) ShadowDancer Toughness
16) ShadowDancer
17) CLERIC
18) CLERIC Scribe Scroll
19) CLERIC
20) CLERIC
21) ShadowDancer Great Dexterity I
22) CLERIC
23) CLERIC
24) CLERIC Great Dexterity II
25) CLERIC
26) CLERIC
27) CLERIC Great Dexterity III
28) MONK
29) MONK
30) MONK Epic Dodge
31) MONK
32) MONK
33) MONK Epic Weapon Focus Unarmed Strike
34) MONK
35) MONK
36) MONK Epic Prowess
37) CLERIC
38) MONK
39) MONK Great Dexterity IV
40) MONK

Skill Points: Max out Hide, move silent. 40 points in tumble and spellcraft. The rest is up to you.

Naked AC: 35
Naked AB: +38/+35/+32/+29/+26
Naked ST: Fortitude 23; Reflex 31; Will 26
If you know how to maximize your buffs etc, the ab will rise to +64/+61/+58/+55/+52.

And that's all there is to it. A relatively weak melee presence, mediocre saving throws, low hp, but very versatile and sometimes lethal. With Epic Dodge, tumble and monk speed, you can leave and enter melee almost at will.

I was thiking a monk/cleric/ftr or cot would be cool but didn't see that one posted. I tried building one myself but came out all wrong, it was pretty weak. there aren't many builds posted that use those combinations of classes but there are a few

Teaching men a lesson in combat etiquette. which PW do you play on?

-DaMouse Thanks Amazon, that link you sent me is pretty cool, never seen it before.

Someone gave me this guide on the server I play on but I'm not sure how to put it together. He doesn't remember what order he took all those lvs and feats in

What do you think?

My guide:

20 monk/5 fighter/15 cleric

Race: Human (I was halfling...*** )

Stats:

STR: 13
DEX: 16 (+6)
CON: 8
WIS: 15 (+3)
INT: 10
CHA: 13 (+1)

Skills: Concentration, discipline, spellcraft, tumble

Domains: War, Healing

Take 8 monk, 4 fighter and 8 cleric pre-epic. Pre-epic feats should include power attack, divine might/shield, improved critical unarmed strike, weapon focus unarmed strike, maximize (or empower, meh) spell, extend spell, and weapon specialization unarmed strike.

In epics, take epic weapon focus unarmed strike, epic weapon specialization unarmed strike, armor skin, epic prowess, great dexterity I, and, you know, whatever else you want to throw in.

He'll pretty much dominate everything so long as he's buffed, might have to worry about rest spawns more than most melees, but in the end, you can't go wrong with a possible 78 AC, 64 AB, loads of divine damage, 8 attacks per round, cleric goodness, immunity to mind spells, super speed...definitely good stuff. 3 Towns- low magic world heh.. I thought so.. Rocker is a friend of mine.. his builds are good for 3T Although he tends not plan things like characters in great depth, I'll see if I can construct a build sheet from what he has given..

-DaMouse Str 13

Somebody yell at me for this.. I feel I've left monk levels to late but wanted clerical power earlier bla bla.. I'm sure this can be improved but basically I took Cleric levels early as possible then took Monk up to get damage up a bit and fighter comes late on.. maybe a bit to late.. I figured level 6 was about when you'd start getting CHA boosting items and thus put divine might and shield as feats for 6 and 9.. I managed to get extend, empower and maximize in as well being the super clever person I am . (*cough* probably got it wrong *cough*)..

So yeah.. someone comment on it before this guy goes and tries it? Basically boosting Discipline, Spellcraft and Tumble whenever you get a chance..

-DaMouse Looks ok to me but I'm no expert
Would it be worth swopping either Empower or Maximise for Extra Turning to give more uses of Divine Might and Shield

edit: Might be worth taking Trickery Domain instead of Healing. Improved Invisibility will be handy until you get Empty Body and put 1 into Disable Traps and Open Locks (cross-class sadly) and hes a bit of a rogue too

I dunno really.. Empower does lose value with buffs after awhile since having solid +5 is better so perhaps you could swap it for Extra Turning.. how many extra does that give again anywho?

-DaMouse 6 extra a day which is a lot
I suppose it depends on how harsh the rest restrictions are
I don't know the PW so that many uses might be excessive

Teaching men a lesson in combat etiquette. Thanks DaMouse, really cool of you to make the build sheet. I'm no expert but looks good to me too. I will probally take trickery instead of healing for improv invis.

As for the extra turning, I'm really not sure yet. I guess I'll wait to hear from you and Amazon Queen. Hmm.. yeah.. perhaps exchanging Empower Spell for Extra Turning.. since rest spawns are pretty common in a lot of higher level areas.. being able to churn out Divine Shield again is good.. I think Rocker chose Healing because it gives better healing spells on 3T and thus with your shoddy HP could heal you up again . I guess it's how you wanna play.. if you wish to have 50% conceal (which I would) and have less healing potential then I say go for it! Healing is only useful if you get hit

-DaMouse Its not as if a Cleric without Healing Domain can't heal after all, just not a speciality

Teaching men a lesson in combat etiquette. I've been trying the build out and so far it's been tough going, not as strong as some of the other buils I've played at the same lvl. I actually got killed by the rats

Does it take a while for this build to get going? At about what lvl is he at least as goods as other melee builds?

Thanks again for your help, challenging but fun- I like monks As far as I can remember.. rocker bitched about him until he got a decent amount of clerical goodness in..

-DaMouse Check out the "Elusive All-Seeing Phae" build by Kyriani Agrivar. Tough to level, but real tough to kill.
