From the darkness, you hear his voice: "Do not be afraid, mortal" Yet you are afraid. You are terrified, yet you know not what of. As he draws closer, you can see streaks of red around the corners of his mouth. "You have done well to come this far" Although you would normally take pride in such a compliment, you now wish you had never ventured into this god-forsaken crypt. Dreams of wealth lured you here, wealth and power. Indeed, you have already seen great wonders in this vast necropolis beneath your city, and in this last chamber, items that would worth a small fortune to many a surface-dweller litter the floor. Yet, you now wish you had never come here. You wish you were somewhere else, anywhere else. Even back in that dank hovel you call a home; even that would be better than being here. You turn to run, but too late; he is upon you...

This is a preliminary version of my Elder Vampire build. I haven't tested it yet, so please let me know if you see any errors. I have included a build order, so I think it should work. It has a relatively low caster lvl and a mediocre AB, but it has a decent AC and should have decent damage with Flame Weapon and sneak attacks.
Bump!
Yes I know, I'm a baaaad girl But FinneousPJ encouraged me!
Okay, so here's the thing, will someone help fix up this build? Only made it work once, and I did something different from the original build. But.. I have no clue what.. HELP!
-Christina!
In which ways is it broken? Just at a glance, I would deduce that he doesn't qualify for the Autostills...let me check. _________________ Got Hommlet? World of Greyhawk Action Server (with 1/2 price ales on Mondays!)

I'm not sure what you did, but I don't think its your mistake!
In my day I have built many PM's, and up until now, we have been allowed to do it with only 3 character levels, ie. wiz3, bard3 etc would open the pm class. I just ran a leveler and at wiz 4, the pm wasnt open to me, but it did open at lv 5 (or 3rd lvl spell casting).
Does anyone know if bioware changed the PM class? I havent played one recently.
Hopefully, there is someone with more skill than I who can answer this rather upsetting problem
Here is how I did it. I just dropped the SP feats and stuck with the theme of the build of Autostills and Dev Crit, added Extend, and a few other tweakings (like 20Int and Epic Mage Armor). Should work now.

Just out of curiosity, I understand that having DevCrit can be a very handy feature for a melee-based character, but is it worth it in the end to get it at lvl 40? And with a 26 Str, isn't the DC a bit on the low side anyhow?
I understand the concept of the build, but I'm not sure that this would be particularly effective. Please feel free to educate me otherwise.

Cool concept.
Honestly, I never build with Dev Crit. I pieced this one together using it because that was the intent of the original author.
But Dev Crit is one of those environment dependent things. Regardless of DC, if you force your opponent to make Fort saves every round, sooner or later he's going to fail one. With the Palemaster's immunities, he can outlast and out-dev hardcore melee classes. _________________ Got Hommlet? World of Greyhawk Action Server (with 1/2 price ales on Mondays!)

That's exactly the key. Since Dev Crit is basically the same as being able to spam instant death spells ad nauseum, even if you have a pathetic DC and few attacks per round, your opponent is eventually going to roll a 1 and fail the save. The only concern you might have is an extremely low AB. In that case, if your opponent's AC is 21+ higher than your AB, you can't land a crit. Otherwise, you win, hands down. _________________ It's rogue, dammit, ROGUE!!!

Thanks Grizz! If only there was a way to squeeze in epic dodge, but of course I'm just a dreamer... (Yes, I realize it requires defensive roll ) -Christina!

Umm, and a little thing like 25 dex, which could take this build in a whole new direction! But you'd have to dump a class, ie blackguard, to get rogue or sd.. then you'd loose the original intent of the builder, but come up with an entirely new "vampire" concept! hmmm..
Intresting, dont think i got anything to add on that

Then why post a no-value reply? Can the spam and go talk to your goldfish.

Way to go on the hipocracy!
Anyways, his reply actually MEANT something. He states that he is satisfied with the build. Can you say the same?
Stop being a jerk.
Since we're continuing the trend of no-value replies I will only say:
How can you say his reply MEANT something? He hadn't posted the build, he hadn't commented on the build, who gives a rat's behind that he has nothing to add? Do we want every Tom, Dick, and Nancy that reads a posted build to add a reply at the bottom "Neato! I have nothing to add!"??? I think not.
In the absence of our board moderators we need to keep this place disciplined. We can't encourage useless posts.
Indeed we need to keep the place disciplined. I invite everyone to keep it civil and well mannered. Sometimes not replying is enough.

since my lil "well done" post seems to have caused trouble then i just want u who got offended by it to know that it do mean something, it do got a value and its not ment to offend anyone.
I wonder how this build would be with sorc levels instead, getting a higher cha and going for more "divine" abilities. u probaly have to sacrifice the dev crit, whitch is banned on alot of servers due to unbalance anyway. gotta test that
I like the build. My preference would be a Bard/BG/PM. It is a wicked combo. Not my creation, but I have used it and it rocks.
