Loyal to kingdom and country, the Knight of the Sword does one thing and does it well: dish out the pain. Need buffs? Look elsewhere. Need skills? Sorry, we don't got any. Move silently? Pfft. Need something sliced in two? Now we are talking.
A human would get one more feat (exotic weapons and use bastard sword and shield or use scythe as weapon of choice) and 40 more skill points (cross class to Tumble for added AC or put them in taunt).
I would particularly like feedback on the Parry part of this character.
Cheers. _________________ We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender - Winston Churchill

Paladin 8 does get you level 2 spells, if you have equipment that will get your wisdom to level 4. Your innate wisdom of 12 will permit the casting of spells even though you get *zero* without the ability bonus. Your saves are sick as it is, but eagle's splendor will increase them and will add a little to your divine wrath and a little bump to your lay on hands abilities.
And it's playable 1-40, PvM until I figure out if it can PvP (it is designed to PvP but you never know -- math without monks, and all).

Knight of the Sword Any (as built, Elf)
That name brings back fond memories of Krynn. You should probably go Human for this build, the extra feat and skillpoint per level will help you out. Also with your base attributes, you can only go Elf, Half-elf or Human.
You should switch these feats. With your stat spread your AB will be lower than average at that level so a +1 to AB will really help out.
Quote: 8 CoT1 Ability: Strength (16) 9 CoT2 Feat: Spring Attack, Expertise 10 CoT3 11 CoT4 Feat: Whirlwind Attack ... 22 Cot5 23 CoT6 Feat: Epic Prowess 24 CoT7 Feat: Great Strength II (21); Ability: Strength (22) 25 CoT8 Feat: Great Cleave ... 29 CoT9 30 CoT10 Feat: Great Strength IV (25), Improved Parry
You use most of your CoT levels for regular feats, so take more of them pre-epic. CoT has Fortitude and Reflex as high saves, whilst WM only has Reflex as a high save. And why take Parry and Improved Parry, With armor your parry skill will be decreased to the point of being useless (-8 in full plate?). You would probably find knockdown, divine might or divine shield to be more useful feats to choose.
As I mentioned, I would drop Parry, raise my Tumble to 20 for the extra AC point and either pick up some spellcraft or Taunt.
Lastly, I would drop two CoT levels for two Paladin Levels (better spells, as opposed to a +1 to all saving throws).
The build has potential, and some good strong points (the high AB in particular), but there is a fair bit of room for improvement. _________________ Two wrongs don't make a right but three lefts do.
thanks, Mith, good points as always.
I really like the point about CoT pre-epic. I hadn't considered that but that would take an already high fortitude save and make it higher.
I will have to go build it to see where the saves come out (better, no doubt, except for one less in will) but the AB should remain the same. Also, I am not sure you can raise two abilities on the same level, even if one is a bonus CoT feat (level 39). So that may require some tweaking.
It is a better build human, but I don't really build human except when you just can't do it otherwise. That way, the build can always be modified to taste. Easier to build for human.
I have tried to minimize the levels spent with strength at odd numbers. Before Mith's suggestions, I know that it worked but I will have to make sure you can take ability str to 25 on the same level as taking dev. crit.
Since we were pushing WM back, I pushed up because that extra attack is useful in early levels. I need to check to make sure that works with the available CoT feats.
Again, thanks, Mith, for helping with this build. [of course, I have already taken it to level 7 in my PW, so that will be scrapped as the unfortunate parry effort.]
cheers.
grr, my computer timed out during my edit, so . . .

Your last CoT level comes a little early to run spot up as high as I'd like. Still, all in all, a better build.
