Here is a build that I made a while ago. I have not seen a build like this so my apologies if this has been posted before or someone made something very similar.

This build focuses on building a "red dragon human", taking in consideration all the benefits that a red dragon has. This build is more on the roleplaying side.

Human: Chaotic Neutral

(LvL 40)
Strength 14 (30)
Dexterity 13
Constitution 16 (18)
Intelligence 12 (14)
Wisdom 10
charisma 11 (13)

The charisma was pushed up to 11 as the sorcerer will gain a maximum of 2 levels of spells and since the +2 to charisma was gained after the sorcerer levels there is little I can do here. I finished the dexterity at 13 since you can only get a maximum of +1 to AC from your Dex. modifier.

1. Sorcerer, Toughness + Luck of Heroes
2. Sorcerer
3. Sorcerer, Weapon Proficiency Exotic
4. Sorcerer
5. Fighter, Dodge
6. RDD, Power Attack
7. RDD
8. RDD
9. RDD, cleave
10. RDD
11. RDD
12. RDD, Weapon Focus: Bastard Sword
13. RDD
14. RDD
15. RDD, Improved Critical: Bastard Sword
16. Fighter, Great Cleave
17. Fighter
18. Fighetr, Mobility + Spring Attack
19. Fighter
20. Fighter, Weapon Specialisation: Bastard Sword
21. RDD, Overwhelming Critical: Bastard Sword
22. RDD
23. RDD
24. RDD, Devestating Critical: Bastard Sword + Epic Prowess
25. RDD
26. RDD
27. RDD, Knockdown
28. RDD, Armour Skin
29. RDD
30. RDD, Blind Fight
31. RDD
32. RDD, Epic Toughness 1
33. RDD, Called Shots
34. RDD
35. RDD
36. RDD, Epic Toughness 2 + Epic Weapon focus: Bastard Sword
37. RDD
38. RDD
39. RDD, Improved Power Attack
40. RDD, Epic Toughness 3

The feats were based around my ideal of the build and there is little feats to choose from the epic RDD feats list. Epic Toughness was taken instead of Great Constitution because the modifier can be effected (at least this way my HP wont be effect by poisons, diseases or magical effects).

Skills:
Tumble 20
Spellcraft 43
Discipline 43
Concentration 43
Lore 38

AC: 25 (Naked) (combine this with the spells and magic equipment this can reach epic heights)
HP: 660

Now the main feature to this build is the power of the breath weapon. The DC is at its highest of 24 and doing up to 12d10 fire damage. Combine this with the fighting feats and the ability to move around freely without attacks of opportunity this build can reck havok.

I'm unsure of the AB, saves and final AC as I have not fully tested this build (only up to level 20).

Spell selection is up to you but invisibility, mage armour and true strike are a must for battles.

Please offer your advice

It looks like you're going for melee right from the beginning, so I'd suggest taking 4 FTR levels first, then a level of SOR, then RDD and fill it out with your SOR levels after you get RDD 10.

You can then start with 10 CHA and 14 DEX. I realize the most you get from DEX is +1 AC, but it wuold boost your Reflex saves by +1 (this is going to be one of your weak saves).

You'd also get your FTR bonus feats in early (need to shuffle a coule around due to BAB requirements, but you could still get them all in).

The logic doesn't really hold up here. Taking GRT CON would also serve to raise your Fort saves as well as gaining HPs. Also, keep in mind that your HPs are still going to be affected by the same amount due to poison or magical effects whether you take GRT CON or Epic Toughness. As an example, if you lose 4 points of CON due to a poison, you're still losing 80 HPs (at level 40) regardless of whether your HPs come from CON bonus or Epic Toughness.

One last thing I'll say is many people would tell you not to bother going for more than 10 RDD levels, as the benefits are just not borne out by the cost (especially since your breath weapon is only 1 use/day). I tend to agree with this view, but since you stated it's more of a roleplay build, then I'd say it fits in well.

Please offer your advice

I always like a pure PrC build even if it is impractical in play. My advice would be this:

Go for Constitution and Epic Damage Reduction. EDR is a bonus feat for RDDs, so you can easily get a 22Con with this build and pick up all 3 EDRs. This will give you +80 hit points, +2Fort saves, and DR 9/-. A lot more practical than things like Called shot, Improved Power Attack, etc.

Also, I believe Epic Prowess is an RDD bonus feat, so there is an instant +1 to your AB.

I would also drop the Sorceror for Bard. Taking 4 Bard in pre-epic will give you a +4 to AC, as well as giving you UMD. It will also raise your BAB by 1, and allow you to get the maximum attack schedule with a +16BAB.

Finally, I would suggest dropping Bastard for a 2-hander, like Great Sword and Great Axe. This will greatly improve the damage you land.

Ariel, Ookla, RIDE! 10/10 for stupidity.. I love it I've been trying to think of a at least minorly useful 30RDD build and this one looks purdy neat..

-DaMouse Thank you all for the advice I will take into account what you said and will post a second version of this build as soon as possible. Here is the new version of the build. The build is still on the rolepleying side.

Fighter 6, Bard 4, Red Dragon Disciple 30

Human: Chaotic Neutral

(LvL 40)
Strength 14 (32)
Dexterity 12
Constitution 16 (22)
Intelligence 12 (14)
Wisdom 10
charisma 12 (14)

All attributes are placed into strength.

1. Fighter, Toughness + Weapon Focus: Longsword + Power Attack
2. Bard
3. Bard, Dodge
4. Bard
5. Fighter, Mobility
6. RDD, Cleave
7. RDD
8. RDD
9. RDD, Great Cleave
10. RDD
11. RDD
12. RDD, Knockdown
13. RDD
14. RDD
15. RDD, Improved Critical: Longsword
16. Fighter
17. Bard
18. Fighter, Blind Fight + Weapon Specialisation: Longsword
19. Fighter
20. Fighter, Improved Knockdown
21. RDD, Great Constitution 1
22. RDD
23. RDD
24. RDD, Great Constitution 2 + Epic Prowess
25. RDD
26. RDD
27. RDD, Great Constitution 3
28. RDD, Armour Skin
29. RDD
30. RDD, Great Constitution 4
31. RDD
32. RDD, Damage Reduction 1
33. RDD, Overwhelming Critical: Longsword
34. RDD
35. RDD
36. RDD, Devestating Critical: Longsword + Damage Reduction 2
37. RDD
38. RDD
39. RDD, Epic Weapon focus: Longsword
40. RDD, Damage Reduction 3

Skills:
Tumble 20
Spellcraft 43
Discipline 43
Concentration 43
Lore 43
Perform 4

AC: 25 (Naked) (combine this with the spells and magic equipment this can reach epic heights)
HP: 688

I'm still unsure of the saves, AB and the DC for Devastating critical.

Spell selection is up to you but invisibility, mage armour and Eagles Splendour are a must for battles.

Please take in consideration that I have chosen a one handed weapon as I wish to use large shields for added AC. The build is geared towards light/medium armour so that tumble can be used effectively during battle without using spring attack. I'm unsure if the dodge and mobility feats are doing anything for this build so again advice would be grateful.

griphook ..Corrected stats typo's

Edited By griphook on 09/25/05 22:58

I forgot to mention that the stats above are wrong here are the correct ones.

(LvL 40)
Strength 14 (32)
Dexterity 12
Constitution 16 (22)
Intelligence 12 (14)
Wisdom 10
charisma 12 (14)

These stats are more rounded and better suit the build. My saving throws for fortitude will be higher (thank you for the tips Cinnabar Din and Grizzled_Dwarflord). All attributes are placed into strength.

Once again feedback will be appreciated.
