Sitting high on his throne the Master was alone in his decadance...evil to the core he ruled the region with tyranny..many a young even epic adventurer had fallen afoul of his mighty scythe...not necessarily the most pratical of weapons but he did not care...nor did he care to clean up after those hapless adventurers as piles of bodies lay rotting around him...

From across the room he heard a sound...someone was coming up the stairs...judging by the timing he was alone..."hmm another to the slaughter" thought the Master...Slowly the door crept open a standing infront of him was a particularly unremarkable looking fellow...

"So you are the Master?" spoke the Unknown Warrior

"Ha" growled the Master, slowly standing to reveal his towering height "many have fallen before me and you think you can beat me alone?"

The Unknown Warrior was not phased, "you do not fighten me..."

The Master's eye's grew wide as the unknown warrior held aloft a severed head...stammering..."that...that...you will pay for this..."

"Funny" retorted the Unknown Warrior "that is precisely what your Tax Collector said..."

Unfurling his wings the Master grabbed at his scythe and launched himself across the room, the keen edge striking true as he swung at the Unknown Warrior.

"Is that the best you can do?" he Taunted, scythe blade stuck deep in his left shoulder.

As the Master pulled his scythe back it caught on part of the burnt plate pulling back revealing just a glimpse of the boney arm below, lifeless but still deathless...maybe it is the Master who will now be mastered...

This build is for all those who are tired of those pesky 700+ crits getting you down. I do not know how it will fare on many servers but on the server I play on it is practically invincible...so without further ado:

Phew...& I think that's about it!!! Lemme know if I forgot anything...

AND now...to address all the issues I think people are going to have with the build!!!

1) yes, you could easily fit in Knockdown, Called Shot & a few other desired, maybe a bit of discipline as well...however the world I play on a lot of the monsters have very high disciplines themselves (&/or immunity) so are practically immune...and it is also possible to pick up immunity yourself so no need for discipline...

2) why so much con & epic toughness? When you are facing monsters that can damage you over 300 with a non critical hit you will certainly wish you had got a few more hit points!

3) That ABs pretty low...how do you expect to hit anything? That is a good question indeed, well with my trusty +12 sword and items to boost my strength by +12 I gain a +18 bonus to AB so can reasonably hit AC 60+ which may not be the most effective PvP but this is a PvM character...

4) Ahhh you shouldn't create a build that relies on magic items!!! ...but why not, unless you play in a very low magic world you are going to find ways of boosting stats & otherwise! AND if you don't then the world is going to be such that you require said items!!!

I think that's about it (honest)...

NOTE ; This is really the end...enjoy!!!

First of all, you mention things happening on your server and specifies them. That's fine. You mention Discipline, which is easily implemented. I agree, AB is a bit low, but you gain hp's and DR as a trade. Take more PM in the epic's to raise AB, or just increase str more after 22 CON.
But I don't think this is a dependant upon specific items, with a few small twists it is good to go in most settings. Lower starting CON by 2, or 1 CON and 1 STR would gain you 6 ability increases. Not a bad trade IMO.

Short and high octane story. Good, hard to kill build.

edit: I would have used epic toughness for something else. You lack epic prowess, right?

Edited By Grimnir77 on 10/28/05 10:48

Maybe drop some fighter and take more Bard... maybe 8 in total? that would gain you a further +1 AB with the effects of song. You could possibly squeeze in Curse Song and Lingering Song as well.

Just thoughts at the moment.. haven't tried it.

Great Cleave? don't need this if you are not going for OC or DC. That can be dropped.

Strong Soul and Snake Blood? Personally I'd take Luck of Heros instead, this would free up another feat.

If you wanted more HPs, you could also use a Dwarf too as skillpoints don't really seem to be a concern for you =P

.."..".. Or a half-orc.

Experience is the mother of good judgement; bad judgement is the father of experience. But half-orcs will get you an exp penalty Using dwarf will allow you to get 18 CON easier and have some left over for raising other stats to get more skillpoints and get spellcraft up (surely, that's helpful?).

.."..".. Sure, dwarf is a better powergaming race for several reasons, but how could you not love an undead half orc with 9 dex, 6 int, 8 wis, and 6 cha?

Change him from fighter to barbarian and rename him the Ghost of Captain Caveman!

Lol yeah, the half-orc would be a pretty mad build, though i may not be too concerned with an XP penalty as you are gonna reach lvl 40 at some point....going Barbarian would give some extra damage reduction but lose out a bit on some feats...though there are certainly some pre-epic feats that aren't really crucial *coughs Great Cleave*

Dwarf would be a better powergaming option...& I do have a Dwarf version however, I rebuilt it around human as there was a few race restricted items I wanted to use!!!

UMD won't let a dwarf version use the race-restricted items?

What I'm reading now:
The White Spider by Heinrich Harrer. I had started the Dwarf with 16 STR, 12 DEX, 18 CON and 14 INT. Starting with fighter (and losing 16 skillpoints because you can't start as bard because of stupid noobie-proofing), you'll get 180 skillpoints with your level allocation. You could take UMD to 42(40), spellcraft to 43(45), Tumble 40, some in perform and have enough to max discipline with a few points left over (you could take heal on your server if you wished, or taunt). I'd say it's nicer to start as a dwarf for this build of yours

.."..".. Yeah the Dwarf version is probably a bit better adjusted and actually the one I play...just don't want all my secrets to get into the wrong hands muhahah...

I am liking the sound of the 1/2 orc Barbarian as someone suggested!

But here's the Dwarf version I have : (I stuck Knockdown in aswell for all those fans of it out there!)

Dwarf, Chaotic Neutral

Starting Stats (Final Stats):

Str - 16 (26)
Dex - 8 (8)
Con - 20 (26)
Int - 12 (12)
Wis - 8 (8)
Cha - 6 (6)

Levelling Guide:

1 - Fighter(1): Luck of Heros, Weapon Proficiency Exotic
2 - Bard(1):
3 - Bard(2): Blind Fight
4 - Fighter(2): Weapon Focus, +1 con (con=21)
5 - Fighter(3):
6 - Fighter(4): Power Attack, Weapon Specialization
7 - Fighter(5):
8 - Fighter(6): Cleave, +1 str (str=17)
9 - Bard(3): Skill Focus: Use Magic Device
10 - Pale Master(1):
11 - Pale Master(2):
12 - Pale Master(3): Toughness, +1 str (str=18)
13 - Pale Master(4):
14 - Pale Master(5):
15 - Pale Master(6): Lightning Reflexes
16 - Fighter(7): +1 str (str=19)
17 - Fighter(8): Improved Critical
18 - Fighter(9): Great Fortitude
19 - Fighter(10): Knockdown
20 - Fighter(11): +1 str (str=20)
21 - Pale Master(7): Great Constitution I (con=22)
22 - Pale Master(8):
23 - Pale Master(9):
24 - Pale Master(10): Great Constitution II, +1 con (con=24)
25 - Fighter(12): Epic Damage Reduction I
26 - Fighter(13):
27 - Fighter(14): Great Constitution III (con=25), Epic Damage Reduction II
28 - Fighter(15): +1 str (str=21)
29 - Fighter(16): Epic Damage Reduction III
30 - Fighter(17): Great Constitution IV (con=26)
31 - Fighter(18): Epic Weapon Focus
32 - Fighter(19): +1 str (str=22)
33 - Fighter(20): Great Strength I, Epic Weapon Specialization (str=23)
34 - Fighter(21):
35 - Fighter(22): Epic Toughness I
36 - Fighter(23): Great Strength II, +1 str (str=25, con=25)
37 - Fighter(24): Epic Toughness II
38 - Fighter(25):
39 - Fighter(26): Perfect Health, Epic Toughness III (con=26)
40 - Bard(4): +1 (str=26)

HP - 782 (maxed)

Saving Throws:

Fortitude - 34
Will - 21
Reflex - 20

Attack Bonus:

BAB 26 + 3 (wf/ewf) +8 (str) = 37/32/27/22

Skills:

Disable Trap - 1(2)
Listen - 1(0) <---! skill point left over!!!
Open Lock - 1(0)
Perform - 11(9)
Search - 1(2)
Spellcraft - 34(35)
Tumble - 41(40)
Use Magic Device - 43(44)

So there we go...basically only loss is a transferrance of 2 from will to fortitude save, gaining immunity to all poison & disease and a heap of skills...

Changes could be made to the choice of Epic Toughness & Perfect Health as desired, maybe taking Epic Prowess, Over-Crit (if u take great cleave instead of knockdown) or maybe taking last Bard level 1 level earlier and taking Epic Skill Focus: UMD...
_________________
Grrr...hear my roar!!! Perfect health is pretty useless at the level you get it, IMO. I'll post this more generalized version (hope you don't mind), not specialized for your server. Thing is, when most people make a Fighter/Bard/PM, they usually take PM to 16 at least to get epic spells (EMA, Epic Warding) but I suppose a fighter-heavy version has its advantages too.

Race: Dwarf
Alignment: any non-good, non-lawful
Classes: Fighter 24/ Bard 6/ PM 10
1-40 PvM

Stats:
STR: 16(26)
DEX: 12
CON: 18(22)
INT: 14
WIS: 8
CHA: 6

With this many feats, you can afford to specialize in a one-hander and a two-hander or get Dev-Crit easily if you wanted.

01: Fighter(1): Luck of Heros, Weapon Focus: Scimitar
02: Bard(1)
03: Fighter(2): Power Attack, Cleave
04: Fighter(3): STR+1, (STR=17)

31: Pale Master(10)
32: Fighter(17): CON+1, (CON=21)
33: Fighter(18): Great Constitution II, Epic Weapon Specialization: Scimitar, (CON=22)
34: Fighter(19)
35: Fighter(20): Epic Damage Reduction I
36: Fighter(21): STR+1, Great Strength I, (STR=24)
37: Fighter(22): Epic Damage Reduction II
38: Fighter(23)
