I've debated with myself whether to post this as it's rather similar to Cinnabar Din's Raging Skald - Barbarian 22/ Bard 8/ RDD 10 but I guess I'll let you decide. I wasn't setting out to copy it, it's just that it'd turned out that way when I looked to see what's out there. I didn't go for any low-level bard spells and has a lower-level song (only a few casterlevel so they wouldn't last long), just pure melee. This guy's a decent tank with excellent HP, DR 14/-, even higher HPs and AB when raging.

Race: Human, can be modded to half-orc
Alignment: any non-lawful
1-40 PvM

Stats:
STR: 16(30)
DEX: 12
CON: 16(22)
INT: 14(16)
WIS: 8
CHA: 8(10) <-- move 2 dex points here if you want the bard spells

01: Barbarian(1): Knockdown, Armor Proficiency Heavy
02: Bard(1)
03: Barbarian(2): Weapon Focus: Greataxe, Bb: (Uncanny Dodge I)
04: Barbarian(3): STR+1, (STR=17)
05: Barbarian(4)
06: Red Dragon Disciple(1): Blind Fight
07: Bard(2)
08: Red Dragon Disciple(2): STR+1, (STR=20)
09: Red Dragon Disciple(3): Improved Knockdown
10: Red Dragon Disciple(4): (STR=22)
11: Barbarian(5)
12: Bard(3): CON+1, Improved Critical: Greataxe, (CON=17)
13: Barbarian(6)
14: Barbarian(7)
15: Barbarian(8): Called Shot
16: Barbarian(9): CON+1, (CON=18)
17: Bard(4)
18: Barbarian(10): Toughness
19: Barbarian(11)
20: Barbarian(12): CON+1, (CON=19)

Some freedom in the pre-epic feats. You can drop called-shot for something else, maybe Luck of the Heroes.

21: Red Dragon Disciple(5): Epic Weapon Focus: Greataxe
22: Red Dragon Disciple(6)
23: Red Dragon Disciple(7): (CON=21)
24: Red Dragon Disciple(8): CON+1, Epic Damage Reduction I, (CON=22)
25: Red Dragon Disciple(9): (INT=16)
26: Red Dragon Disciple(10): RDD: (Darkvision), (STR=26), (CHA=10)
27: Bard(5): Epic Damage Reduction II
28: Barbarian(13): STR+1, (STR=27)
29: Barbarian(14)
30: Barbarian(15): Terrifying Rage
31: Barbarian(16)
32: Barbarian(17): STR+1, (STR=28)
33: Barbarian(18): Thundering Rage^
34: Barbarian(19)
35: Barbarian(20)
36: Barbarian(21): STR+1, Mighty Rage, (STR=29)
37: Barbarian(22)
38: Barbarian(23)
39: Bard(6): Epic Damage Reduction III
40: Barbarian(24): STR+1, Epic Prowess, (STR=30)

^ from the feat description, Thundering Rage didn't seem terribly useful (+2d6 damage on crits during rage, 50% chance of defeaning opponents for 3 rounds) so you might want to trade it for something else like Armor Skin or ESF: Intimidate to get your Terrifying Rage DC up or ESF: Taunt.

Max HP: 688
BAB: 28
AB (mundane greataxe): 1d12 + 15, +42/37/32/27 (Crit. 20/x3)
AC (naked/full plate): 23/31
DR: 14/- = 5/- (Barb 23) + 9/- (EDR III)

Saves:
Fort: 29
Ref: 20
Will: 21

+9 vs. spells

Greater Rage 6x/day: +6 STR, +6 CON, +3 will, -2 AC
Mighty Rage 3x/day: +8 STR, +8 CON, +4 will, -2 AC

Not sure if this is how they work but meh, it's nicer than having to stand in one place and whack all day like the DD's stance. I guess it's nicest in a low-magic environment.

Skills (296 points):
Discipline: 43(53)
Tumble: 40(41)
Intimidate: 43(43)
Taunt: 43(43)
Lore: 8(17)

UMD: 40(40)
Spellcraft: 42(45)
Perform: 12(12) <-- enough for 6th-level bardsong

I've been toying with a build like this too... something about really angry red dragon people is just cool.

I don't think the bard spells are worth it with so few bard levels when you have UMD.
