He was an orphan, rescued from certain death by a group of Elves. Those same Elves took him in and raised him in their village, and made him the Dwarf he is today.
Feel free to dual wield or sword and board if you prefer. I just fancied the extra attack with a double bladed weapon without having the armor restriction. Also get the full AB.
It's the Elves making him learn how to use a two-bladed sword that really made him mad. He calls his faithfull blade retribution.
Mat.
p.s. 5 levels of DwD are solely there to cut out flanking sneak attacks.

quick, while you can still edit, remove the reference to the paladin!
more analysis to come.
it looks like we are taking a turn towards the ranger. that's probably for the best.
I must not cut and paste templates from previous builds. I must not cut and paste templates from previous builds. I must not cut and paste templates from previous builds. etc.
Say, I really like this build. Well done. A ranger who can't be flanked and a full 30 BaB with weapon specialization; I like.

How do you get favoured enemy IX on 29th ranger level (40th class level)?
its a bonus ranger feat
damn, you're right. Man I was thinking only of the FE slot on 30th lvl and forgot rangers get a bonus feat at 29th. I'll go and whip myself now Shame on me
not too hard I hope
How about going Ranger 30 / Fighter 4 / DwD 6? Get's you another FE and a little bit DR ...
And lose EWS with this setup but it's a consideration I suppose. _________________ .:\_/:. Only those who have known darkness in (OvO) their hearts will see the shadows in life... (|__|) ..".."..

You don't necessarily lose EWS. You lose a feat, yes, but I'd drop Epic Reflexes or something. _________________ Now is my day's work done; I'll take good breath: Rest, sword; thou hast thy fill of blood and death.
That's why I said with this setup. He'd have to change the leveling order _________________ .:\_/:. Only those who have known darkness in (OvO) their hearts will see the shadows in life... (|__|) ..".."..
Reducing STR to 15 at the start, you can set WIS to 14, getting you effective 1 stat-point more. You don't have to increase WIS twice during level-up and can free one of the Greater STR feats to take something else.
seems to be ranger/fighter build weekend. nicely done. i think that it was mentioned to drop strength and boost wis. otherwise, looks like a solid build. nothing stands out.
well done. i wish for more DD levels for some DR, but i guess being among pointy ears will do that do a dwarf.
also, you will have to change weapons to go sword and board. just in case anyone doesn't catch that.

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate the change to Str and Wis. That's a great spot. Also re the choice of weapon, feel free to change the specialization to fit you style and PW. To Dual Wield you wont be able to wear heavy armor, so that will affect your AC as your dex isn't great. Cat's Grace will help a little.
I had also thought of changing to Ftr4/Dwd6 and here is the build I came up with. I think he is slightly stronger.
Pros: 1 extra Fav Enemy (now 10). 1 extra damage to FEs as lvl 30 Ranger. +1 Reflex and Will DR 3/- Bane 6 levels earlier. 2 extra max HP 2 extra skill points
Cons: WS and EWS delayed at level 24 DwD level 5 delayed to Epic (you can bring these forward but your Bane will be delayed to level 30).
Here is the build. _______________ Elfbane Ranger 30/Fighter 4/Dwarven Defender 6
All-in-all it is a very flexible leveling order, with a lot of room for customization to fit your own style and PW.
Why not try 26 ranger and rest into DwD?
Did you take the fighter only for feats? (I'd ditch that and hammer on the DwD for the DR)
And last, why 13 dex? If it's for armor... perhaps with 26 ranger/14DwD you would have enough DR that the armor wouldn't really matter.

Fighter gives access to WS/EWS and 13 Dex is required for DwD (you need dodge to qualify for DwD and dodge requires 13 dex) Cheers

Thanks Kail.
Also I took ranger 29 (well 30 in the end) to get the extra favoured enemy. All I would get with more DwD is some DR (which I went for in the second version). 5 levels of DwD were wanted as a minimum to avoid flanking sneak attacks. With DwD either get 5 for that, or get lots for plenty of DR.
