Got linked recently to this build (ty X.), and it's pretty impressive - seems criminal to not have this available on Pulsecap's search engine. Evo_dragon's orig post: Click Here
Very few similar builds: Click Here Yrtsns has the same level structure but different feats and stats, additionally it was posted after evo_dragon.
Hence the repost - very little changed: Epic MA and Warding taken earlier (lvl 33 instead of 36) and the levels reworked to get PM Crit Immunity sooner post epic. Oh and a couple of skill points leftover got chucked in Conc

This build has one fatal flaw: he loses all his AC when he is caught flat-footed. That's a lot of Dex and Tumble that goes right down the drain. _________________ Got Hommlet? World of Greyhawk Action Server (with 1/2 price ales on Mondays!)

Ignore the grizzly, he's just Elf-Jaded
On a more mature note though - it isnt that fatal at all. Sure you lose roughly 25 AC to flat footedness, but you've still got Warding and Crit Immunity. And the main reason you're flat footed? Probably due to a rogue (note Crit Imm = Sneak Imm) <last time I checked>
All IMO ofc _________________

It looks good on paper, but a few things one should consider before you ignore me:
Epic Warding will last for one encounter, if that. Crit Immunity, though nice, has been end-arounded. You'll find a lot of sneaking strength-rogues, or better yet, Rangers with Bane and Elven FE, and who can stealth like there's no tomorrow.

The immunity is not in question. It's the flatfootedness. It doesn't take a sneaking Rogue for this character to incur being flatfooted or AoOs. And when he's taking Called Shots while Flatfooted, you might as well say goodnight.
Or, what about the Dex Monk who doesn't rely on sneaks but just chicken-pecks you to death?
Or the Strength-based Assassin with 50% Concealment and Epic Weapon Specialization and IKD. He doesn't need sneaks at that point. Stealth, IKD, here comes the pain.
Or, heaven forbid, another Arcane Archer.
And I'm only thinking PvP at this point. The conditions can deteriorate even more in PvM. _________________ Got Hommlet? World of Greyhawk Action Server (with 1/2 price ales on Mondays!)

Did the clouds just come out? It got cold and gloomy in here
I've actually known about this build for some time. I had an incarnation of it on Fork West a year or two ago. His name was Skinnen Boanz _________________ Intelligent design is neither. Science over superstition please.
Perhaps my rhetoric was too strong. By "fatal flaw", I meant the build's most inherent weakness, which should, at the least, be acknowledged at some point. I still think the build is strong and a butt-kicker. From a player's perspective, I didn't want to gloss over the fact that all his Dex would be lost in the plethora of flatfooted scenarios that can occur. _________________ Got Hommlet? why does the level progression look like that.

My apologies. After seeing the God-Stricken Archer, this guy rapidly gained favor. _________________ Got Hommlet? World of Greyhawk Action Server (with 1/2 price ales on Mondays!)

if you're playing this on a PW you know well, with a party you can trust, the only times you'll ever be flat footed are down to bad luck, and you can't really do anything about that anyway.
this is one of the best AA builds out there, IMO. good work.
At the risk of sounding ignorant, how does one get Epic spells with this build? I'm not questioning the integrity of the build at all, just clarifying. I've never played a PM as it doesn't appeal to me...but I assume you are somehow satisfying the 9th lvl spell casting requirement with the PM component. Can anyone elaborate on how this is possible, please? Do you get to add your bard lvls and PM lvls together as a sort of substitute for actually being able to cast 9th level spells? _________________ Favorite PW's: Hall of the Worlds, Higher Ground, World of Iniquity.

You don't need level 9 spell casting. You just need the required spellcraft ranks and then a palemaster(15+), wizard(21+), druid(21+), cleric(21+) or sorcerer(21+) can take epic spell feats. _________________ Character Build Calculator(works with Excel, Open Office) 2.83: updated to NWN 1.69.
Ah, ok. Thanks for the information.
A very interesting build, and tempting to try in spite of my aversion to archers, and especially PM's. Epic spells + UMD + strong defenses + strong offense make this very appealing indeed. Nice work, pocketbeetle. _________________ Favorite PW's: Hall of the Worlds, Higher Ground, World of Iniquity.
Just noticed:
Level 15: Bard(4), Arcane Archer(5), Pale Master(6): Dodge
Lose the Dodge - take Blind Fight. Too much SC and Imp Invis to be worrying about +1 dodge AC. _________________ The following statement is true. The above statement is false.
