alternatives: could do 1 bard/9 cleric/10 aa pre-epic to get ii as soon as possible. 22 aa for an extra feat (epic toughness seems like the only one worth taking).

pros, high damage archer! decent support char (has a couple of mass heals, rez, greater restoration, etc...).

cons, low hps (hopefully party will protect you), not many skills, requires micromanagement of ab spells and divine might, easily dispelled, xp penalty.

ok guys, tear him apart

Lol, no need to tear him apart - but my question still stands:
Why not 15 CLC / 22 AA?
Gives you an extra feat and you still keep level 8 spells.

edit: And no Discipline?

16 cleric gives more mass heal. 22 aa, sure 1 feat, but there aren't many good choices. I'd rather have 2 rounds/turns more for my short term ab and damage buffs (mostly a playability decision).

discipline won't be needed if you play the character correctly. this char really requires a party. if melee folks are advancing, you have 2 options. 1. run to lure them into somebody that can withstand their attacks. 2. attempt to called shot them, and then lure them into somebody else.

discipline would be nice to protect against called shots from other archers, not not essential to the build. (also where I play there are kd immunity items). even without kd items, the ai won't try a knockdown if your ac is high enough.

this playstyle is also the reason that combat casting/improved combat casting are not essential. nobody is going to be hacking away at you for long if you play this way. concentration allows you to cast while enemy archers are hitting you.

If you want discipline, start with 13 base cha and put the saved points into str, dex, con and int. your cha based feats won't last as long, but will still be effective with 13 damage and ac. +str to make it easier to hit whatever mighty limit you have and +dex for your reflex save.

Nice build J. Good breakdown. Great damage for a non-sneaking archer. Very fun to play, but you have to keep recasting divines (might/shield/power/favor).

-pc Why not go Half-Elf and avoid an XP penalty?
