I’ve been playing a build which was created by our lovely grizzled_dwarflord and I was very successful playing and killing people with it. I mean who expects a heavy armor guy sneaking and kickin’ the cr*p out of you. So I dedicate this build to him.

I’ve modified his Infernall Mistress to the opposite of evil, so I took CoT instead of BG, which gives us the following result. I’ve posted two versions, one which is just good (imo) and one which has Improved Evasion, which is a bit worse... but that’s just me, I know some people like Improved Evasion

First I was trying to create a build without Devastating Critical, but a CoT gets so many feats I could just take it without any problems, but feel free to take other things if you feel like it.

His Divine Mistress (version without Improved Evasion)

Final AB with a mundane Great Sword: 41/36/31/26
Damage output with a mundane Great Sword: 2d6 + 16 (17-20 x2) + 6d6 Sneak Attack (x1,5 for using a Two Handed weapon)
Naked AC: 21
Dev Crit DC: 30
Max HP: (12 x (6+2)) + (6 x (10+2)) + (22 x (10+2)) = 96 + 72 + 264 = 432

Saving throws (with spellcraft 20 ranks cross classed)
Fortitude: 36 (40)
Reflex: 36 (40) You also have Evasion
Will: 31 (35)

Skillpoints total: 40 + (12 x 10) + (6 x 4) + (4 x 22) = 40 + 120 + 24 + 88 = 272
I’ve put skill points in the following skills.
Appraise
Discipline
Heal
Hide
Move Silently
Spellcraft (Cross class)
Tumble
You will have quite some points left, so use them where you see fit.

Some advantages:
Crippling Strike
Evasion
Very nice saving throws
Decent AB
Decent Damage Output

Some disadvantages:
No HiPS
Mediocre hitpoints
Not using the Divine Feats
You can use a towershield + weapon, BUT wearing a shield gives you an armor check penalty of -10! So that harms the build a bit, but it still does the trick, only a bit worse.
No Taunt like the original version by grizzled_dwarflord

Member of the Epic Character Builders Guild No problem ...done Ahh, homage to His Infernal Concubine. Thank you. My one suggestion, and it's but a minor one, is to drop Luck of Heroes, accelerate your other feats, and take Extra Smiting some where between 12-18th lvl. With 22 CoT levels, the LoH is probably superfluous. While Extra Smiting will give you some nice solid Divine Damage against bosses whenever you need that extra push.

You could even drop 2 CoT levels in Epic for two more Rogue, acquire another Rogue bonus feat, 1d6sneak and 12 more skill points, and only lose one CoT bonus feat. Your Divine Wrath will remain intact since 20CoT will still give you +9AB/+9Damage. Another nice added "push", particularly with a few Charisma enhancing items.

Ariel, Ookla, RIDE! does smiting really make a difference?

I thought it only helps (really helps) if you have a charisma based build...

Taking 2 extra rogue instead of CoT yeah thats a good idea, makes it easier to get improved evasion aswell

where would you suggest it be best to drop those 2 CoT levels? Without destroying the integraty of the build. (I dont mind about dev. crit though )

It does make a difference because it gives you a different damage source other than physical or sneak. The damage is based upon your CoT levels, so with 22 levels, you can lay down 22 points of Divine damage per whack, and it can be figured into the multiplication of a critical hit, so you could conceivabley double or triple that number. Your 12 Charisma isn't ideal, but by itself it can give you a +1 AB boost, and it would only take a modest item and an Eagles Splendour to raise your Charisma to take even further advantage of the Smite.

However, it loses effectiveness in this build because the bulk of CoT is taken in Epic. You could mitigate this by taking Fighter 5 and 6 and Epic and taking two more CoT pre-epic. In fact, this would be ideal anyway because you raise your overall saves and lose nothing.

Ariel, Ookla, RIDE! Why do you take the skill focusses in hide and move silently? Does that work if you are wearing heavy armor?

Yes, it does. In fact his reason to take skill foci in hide and MS is to offset the penalties from wearing heavy armor.

Is it just the server I play on that modded this, or is the damage done by a smite physical and not divine? I'm playing your Knight of the Quest there and every smite I do, even when the damage goes well over 150, is physical and not divine. Only the extra damage coming from Divine Might is... but I still think that Extra Smiting is worth taking in a pally or CoT heavy build. That extra damage can always come in handy in dire situations and will often help change the tide of battle. Methinks you are right. I recall thay as well.
