Theoretically, you will be able to use your level 5 spell slots for extended level 4 spells, what with your 8 effective caster levels from the palemaster class. You just have to do it right. Right-click on the shortcut where you want to cast it from, and pick the extended version from the radial menu. It works good as grease, and YES, PM increases spell-slots. You can have you entire arsenal of Bard spells extended, if you want.
