Clangeddin's Savage Harper
Fighter 18, Barbarian 17, Harper Scout 5
1-40 PvM
Dwarf

A new twist on the Harper Scout class introduced to the guild, the first to combine with the Barbarian class. An oddity you may well think, some good aspects, some not so good. Still into the fire he goes. I must add I am not convinced this is anywhere near finalised mind you.

Aside from the obvious Harper Scout qualities, I was aiming to include both Terrifying and Thundering Rage, achieving a decent base Damage Reduction, along with respectable Taunt, Discipline and Intimidate DCs.

Decided on hammer and board in the end, due to the poor ac this guy suffers from, but then I've never been a huge fan of going without a shield anyway.

The main weakness of such a build is with the Will and Reflex saves, and whilst I have made efforts to combat this, without upsetting the integrity of my aims, I am unsatisfied with the results, despite the little bonuses from HS that offset these a little.

Anyway here he is Clangeddin's Savage Harper...

You might want to try for a work around to get more than 20 barbarian levels. As I recall, terrifying rage doesn't work against opponents whose level is greater than twice your barbarian levels.

The check uses the character's hitdice, not the Barb levels, so it matters little if it's Barb15 or Barb40.

It isn't clear in the description of the feat, but from looking at the script it appears that the function used is GetHitDice() on the player... so assuming I found the right script, and that there aren't two implementations of terrifying rage, it at least appears to use total character level, not barbarian class level, to determine who gets terrified by it.

I made one. It uses Ranger, HS, and Barb. Also a dwarf. btw, the Xp penalty kicks in and hurts in this (and my) case.

the reason my build never came up on the build search engine is that barbarian is mispelled.

over all nifty.

-cs well in that case christian ignore my statement.

And get some speling lesons quik Spelling error in the index fixed buddy

Er.. XP Penalty? No XP Penalty here.

After all a Dwarf's Favored Class is a Fighter.
