Trapping, Sneaking, Piercing and Hunting Down Favored Enemies PvP and PvM (1-40)

POWER RANGER (Knight of the Woods)
By Deborah “Tyr” Templar

Concept: Wandering the North lands and patrolling the woods, with his loyal and trusty Dire Wolf by his side, in search of the most abominable of beasts, his favored enemies, for which he is ever watchful and always listening for, in order to hunt it down and slay it.

Note: this character is a “tweaked for (even more) power” version, if you will, of my Divine Ranger (i.e., dropping a level of CoT (thus div.wrath, and adjusting our start stats to reflect same, accordingly); in exchange (and without giving up any of our skills or ranger spells) we pick up: more AB, more Damage, more AC . . . VIII. Animal Companion
Dire Wolf chosen for theme reasons (and also power, HPs); another fine companion to consider is Panther (13d6 sneak damage). Whichever you select, buff it with Greater Magic Fang (+5 AB/+5 Damage and DR 5/+5) before unleashing it onto your enemies.

POWER RANGER
That name reminds me too much of a crappy TV-series.

Yep, but you should really put elves earlier on the list. I ooften find the best sequence to be Elf/Human as the 2 first, then Dwarf. In many many modules and PW's.

If you only plan on using light-armour and dual-wileld, 10 DEX isn't the best choice. You could start with 16 STR, drop 1 FE (perhaps 1/2-elves. A half elf is usually dead no?) for Great STR and get more DEX.

VIII. Animal Companion
Dire Wolf chosen for theme reasons (and also power, HPs); another fine companion to consider is Panther (13d6 sneak damage).

At first the Direwolf is a very good choice. The bear slowly but surely takes over as the power animal. The direwolf increases DEX on higher levels, so the bear does more damage and hits more often. And takes more of a beating. Both has useless AC. The panther is a viable choice.

Nice build here Deb, as usual. Get's Bane early enough too.

Oh, and check out Finn's Natures Punisher to see what kind of favor 4 fighter levels do ya instead of CoT. The most important things being EWS and heavy-armor. Might need it once in a while, at least with DEX10.
