========

A Fist for all occasions.

This theme-build is to focus on the Polymorph Self spell. Self Buffing will be key here.

All of the Polymorph shapes override Str/Dex/Con so that is why the initial stats are low and at odd levels.

This build has 43 SR which "should help" prevent any Dispells (safe Mords and Spell Breaches) thrown your way.

Mords will not lower your SR rating.

Each form has it's advantages (see Polymorph Spell for details).

I choose Weapon Finness because if for some reason my Strength is affected, then I can rely on Dex for AB. The Pixie also has higher dex than str.

Because of the change in Constitution, your HPs will change drastically when you shift. You can do the calculations. Your Fort/Reflex saves may also change.

stats:

Giant Spider:
Str 19
Dex 17
Con 12
Immune to mind spells and web
OnHit Poison Large Spider Venom DC 18 1d6 STR

Suggested Spells:

Maximized Str/Dex/Wis are preferred for this build.
Mage Armor, Stone Skin, Improved Invisibility, Ghostly Visage
Regular and Extended Polymorph
Elemental Damage Protection
Haste
etc...

=======

I'd skip on using the pixie. The other forms seem to offer better advantages.

No Dev Crit in your world? Use Troll
Up Against a Sneaker? Use UmberHulk
Easy to hit foe not protected from poison? Go Spider or stick with Troll
Against any Dev Crit foe use Zombie.

SR 34
Stun Fist DC 37
Quivering Palm DC 30
Movement +90%

Spells: 6 5 5 4 3 1 (not counting lvl 0 spells)

SD was taken because of Spot and HIPS.

Late levels of Wiz and SD were taken to dump skill points for Spellcraft, Spot and Search.

The polymorph spell is a nice way to get true seeing, regeneration and several immunities that last 1 turn/clvl.

I can also understand the thrill of zooming around in a HIPSing pixie that has both monk speed and haste.

But for combat at lvl 40, I have my doubts.
The forms don't merge any of your equipment, so chances are they are much weaker combatants than your natural form.
I have not been able to find documentation on the creature weapons of the different forms saying anything about weapon enchantments. So I wonder if their attacks are non enchanted when it comes to bypassing damage reduction?

-- BG courtesan At a minimum, this character attacks as a +3 weapon (due to monk). I guess Ki Strike 4 and 5 could be taken.

I believe spells like Stone Skin will help your attack bypass DR.

You are correct in that you'll not be as good of a fighter in mellee because of lack of gear. I do think that Armor merges tho. But I'm not sure on that either.

This is not a powerhouse build. it's a fun multiform build without having to go Druid/Shifter. Between the fact that you have no AB and no damage potential, I don't understand how you plan to do anything other than not get hit (something you still don't do wonderfully).

At a minimum, this character attacks as a +3 weapon (due to monk).

Have you tested that the creature weapons don't override the +3 you have to your fists?

Ki Strike Ability is a feat (even the +1 to 3 ranges ones obtained during level up). Thus it's not overwritten.

From NWN Wiki:
Quote: Type of Feat: Class
Prerequisite: Monk 10
Specifics: The character’s unarmed strike attack counts as a magic weapon against creatures with damage reduction (+1 at 10th level, +2 at 13th, +3 at 16th).
Use: Automatic

Now what I ask is if the creature weapons of the different forms count as unarmed attacks when it comes to piercing damage reduction, and if that has been tested.

-- BG courtesan Keep in mind that all attackers that have a "Creature Weapon" attack as their DR rating. So someone with 10/+3 DR attacks as a +3 weapon.

All of the Polymorph Forms have Creature Weapons. So if you had a Stone Skin on, you would attack as a +10 weapon (not +10 AB), just +10 in terms of bypassing DR.

A 20th level Monk has 20/+1 DR.

This build also casts StoneSkin.

*shrug*
(I still think the +3 Ki will work.)
