AB: 29 base + 6 Str + 3 EWF + 1 EP = 39 + 6 Str Gear + 5 GMW = 50 + 8 (Extended Divine Favor, Aid, Prayer & Bless) = 58 + 7 True Strike = 65

AC 10 + 8 Tumble + 2 AS + 2 Dex + 2 Wis + 1 Monk = 25 + 20 (+5 gear) = 45 + 12 Dex/Wis Gear = 57 + 4 Haste = 61 + 1 Mage Armor = 62 + 11 Divine Shield (11 rounds) = 73

Keep a set of platemail handy, particularly before you take sorceror (not so coincidentally when you get epic gear); your AC will be much better in platemail until you get the high-magic gear. This build assumes that at forty you will be able to max out your abilities with your gear. So it's a high-magic setting build.

HP 280

Saves: Fort 34/Reflex 26/Will 26

Skills (147):

Disc 43
Tumble 40
Concentration 40
Spellcraft 24

Strengths

1. Decent AB with Paladin AB Buffs and even better with True Strike
2. Decent damage with two-handed 1.5 multiplier, sorceror and paladin buffs.
3. Good AC in a high-magic setting; Divine Shield will last 11 rounds with epic gear.
4. Level 9 Sorceror Spells, which means True Strike, Belagorn's Horn, Improved Invisibility, Stoneskin, Greater Stoneskin, Premonition, True Seeing, Acid Sheath, Horrid Wilting, Mordenkainen's Disjunction. . . you get the idea.
5. Great saves and off-the-charts fortitude (56 with epic gear).
6. Monk speed, which stacks with haste and with expeditious retreat (whether it should or shouldn't).
7. Use of any arcane scroll with spellcraft.
8. Reasonably high Discipline skill check for KD and Disarm attempts.

Weaknesses

1. Average to below-average Hit Points.
2. Experience penalty leveling from 21 to end.
3. Tricky in a low-magic environment.
4. Buffs are subject to Dispel.
5. No uncanny dodge but a lot of Dodge AC. Mobs will be a problem. But you will have Acid Sheath so it might be their problem, too.
6. Lean on the skills. Ability allocation on creation is tough on a build that needs strength, dexterity, constitution, wisdom, and charisma. Something had to give and it was constitution and intelligence. You get a little bit back by taking Monk at Level 1 but it's still tough to have only 24 Spellcraft and no Heal with a level 18 Sorceror.

There are a few builds utilizing these classes but none of them pursues the feel of this build; they appear to utilize Paladin solely for Divine Grace and Shield.

The Flamecaster (Sorcerer 21 / Monk 16 / Paladin 3)
-- AXN

Defender Of Good (Paladin 3 / Monk 2 / Sorcerer 35)
-- Iron Ranger

Hi DC Sorcerer (Sorcerer 38 / Paladin 1 / Monk 1)
-- Killerpudel (Posted by Stephen Hawking)

Combat Sorcerer (Sorcerer 35 / Paladin 3 / Monk 2)
-- Maothen

It's another two-hander (because I like them ). I have to tip my hat to my friend GeiN, who inspired this build and pushes the envelope of what can and can't be done with a build once built.

Cheers,

Thax the Shadow Dragon sez: MONKS USE KAMAS. Just ask him.
I just needed to use the quote, not even I could say it so good

Now, my point on weapons is obvious, with a base STR score of 22 your two handed weapon 1.5 STR score bonus is adding only +3 damage (up to +6 capped), which is arguably better than 6 APR + Flurry of Blows, notice that having more APR also improves Divine Might's effectiveness as well, now, I'm confused at why you didn't take it, you should change SF: Discipline for it. Also, you should probably change Great Fortitude for Blind-Fight.

But other than that the build is pretty good.

but, then it wouldn't be a two-hander!

While blind fight is one of my favorite feats, and it's a no-brainer if your go unarmed, True Sight will help an awful lot. Frankly, if I were relying on Blind Fight, I would build it Elf and let go of Great Fortitude, too. But with a two-hander (which this is intended to be but I do recognize that the level split can be effective unarmed), I like holding on to my weapon.

Hmm, now with the fortitude it has otherwise, I think I'd agree: trade Great Fortitude for Divine Might. 11 (!) points of damage per hit is pretty extraordinary.

Thanks, Thax. Cheers,

Ithacan

Yeah, I know, but I couldn't resist saying the kama stuff, my mind blows up with no-kama monks, make the maths.

Now then, you have the almighty ability of dispelling Improved Invisbility with Mordenkainen's Disjunction, wait, no you don't, with only 18 caster levels I'm pretty sure you'll get the chance at undispellable enemies, you should be aware that neither being Elf (not the case though) or having True Seeing do the slightest thing against Concealed opponents, seeing them isn't just enough to remove Concealment, so don't discard Blind-Fight so lightly, it's a must feat on any melee IMO.

An impressive build.. I tried a class split similar to this (23 Sorc/15 Paladin/2 Monk) but I went armor and shield (for some CON).

Just a shame you cannot fit in 3 more Sorceror levels for Epic Warding. Very nice. I also tried a more Sorc heavy version of this build and was quite impressed. As you say, a little tricky until you get your Sorc buffs.

I would also agree that you should pick up Divine Might. Especially as Divine Might will all get a nice x3 applied to your Halberd crits (as will Divine Favor and I believe Bless and Prayer, iirc).

Anyway, looks good.

Cheers.

EDIT: Will the Keen Weapon spell work on a Halberd? (I only ask because of the Slashing/Piercing thing with Halberds)

It should on the slashing. My PW permits crafting (not casting) keen on everything so. . . your results may vary
