I've been watching the variety of characters flying off of everyones keyboards for a while now, and I was hoping that I could add an another few to the mix.

I'm not much on introductions and story lines so I hope some of you could add some suggestions for an interesting story regarding to this character.

The only other two that I found for this mix were both Elves - one by BRIAN FELLOW and the other by whirlin_merlin, both are very nice builds btw. Nothing against Elves, but I wanted to bring in a Human element to the mix.

This build still needs some tweaking, but I've played several incarnations on a variety of magic levels, all have functioned well as solo or as a part of a party. Here goes:

Torm's Temple Guardian
(Rog 23/CoT 10/WM 7)

STR: 16 (30)
DEX: 15 (16)
CON: 14
WIS: 8
INT: 14
CHA: 8

Hitpoints: 388
Skillpoints: 371
Saving Throws (Fortitude/Will/Reflex): 26/20/34
Saving Throw bonuses: Traps: +5
BAB: 27
AB (max, naked): 39 (melee), 30 (ranged)
AC (naked/mundane armor/shield only): 23/30

Discipline 32(52), Hide 43(46), Intimidate 4(3), Move Silently 43(46), Tumble 43(46), UMD 36(35)
Left over: 170 points

01: Rogue(1): Dodge, Mobility
02: Rogue(2): {Evasion}
03: Rogue(3): Expertise, {Uncanny Dodge I}
04: Rogue(4): STR+1, (STR=17)
05: Rogue(5)
06: Rogue(6): Weapon Focus
07: Rogue(7)
08: Rogue(8): STR+1, (STR=18)
09: Rogue(9): Knockdown
10: Rogue(10): Crippling Strike
11: Champion of Torm(1)
12: Champion of Torm(2): STR+1, Improved Critical, Improved Knockdown, (STR=19)
13: Champion of Torm(3): {Smite Evil}
14: Champion of Torm(4): Spring Attack
15: Champion of Torm(5): Whirlwind Attack
16: Champion of Torm(6): STR+1, Power Attack, (STR=20)
17: Weapon Master(1): Weapon of Choice
18: Weapon Master(2): Cleave
19: Weapon Master(3)
20: Weapon Master(4): STR+1, (STR=21)
21: Weapon Master(5): Great Cleave
22: Rogue(11)
23: Weapon Master(6)
24: Weapon Master(7): STR+1, Great Strength I, (STR=23)
25: Champion of Torm(7)
26: Champion of Torm(8): Armor Skin
27: Rogue(12): Great Strength II, (STR=24)
28: Champion of Torm(9): STR+1, (STR=25)
29: Champion of Torm(10): Overwhelming Critical
30: Rogue(13): Devastating Critical, Improved Evasion
31: Rogue(14)
32: Rogue(15): STR+1, (STR=26)
33: Rogue(16): Great Strength III, Slippery Mind, (STR=27)
34: Rogue(17)
35: Rogue(18)
36: Rogue(19): STR+1, Great Strength IV, Epic Skill Focus: Discipline, (STR=29)
37: Rogue(20)
38: Rogue(21)
39: Rogue(22): Great Strength V, (STR=30)
40: Rogue(23): DEX+1, (DEX=16)

The main weakness of this build is the low will save. However there is the slippery mind feat to offset that somewhat.

It does have Dev Crit (DC:40), but for those server that don't like or allow it there is the option to replace all the power attack and related feats with others - i.e. more will and fort saves.

It has a nice sneak att (12d6) esp combined with IKD.

Looks pretty good. Would like to see more WM levels, but if you do that you will have to drop a lot of the Rogue levels. Also, level 22 Rogue (39 character level) should have a bonus feat, right?

Negative. Rogues receive bonus feats receive every 4 levels once they reach epic, so the next one won't come until 24th.

You'll have to send a large monetary donation to the moderators of this guild...or be banished from this place forever! Or, you could probably just ask one of them nicely to do it for you. Why so many Rogue levels in an STR build? Sure, IKD + sneaks is nice, but without more WM levels, it will be much harder to KD. I'd suggest maybe a 13 Rogue/19 WM/8 CoT split maybe. But of course, it is up to you.

Yeah, that'd be one bottle of vodka (it's fixed).

- Pozzo in Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett Neat build, and congrats on your first post (nicely done format-wise, now that title's fixed (we all love you, Finn)! (heh, and I love the concept ofdivine sneakers myself

One of the nice thing about CoT's here, apart from sacred def. (saves), is helps offset some of the feats burned to get wm, but Mantis makes a great point: w. such an investment for a class (and being str-based), makes sense to go a lot more of it (prob is loss of sneak, and also some skills and saves, but hitting more often (AB) really, it's kinda esssential (yeah, I know, you've UMD, wh. you'll want to top out (works in mult. of 5), still ... AB makes up for the sneak loss (more hits=more dam), and reason for more WM; another thing you're really going to want is Blind-fight (essential on non-arcanists me thinks, so ....

some thoughts, as I really like the idea of this build, so let's see if we can't get yer AB up and BF, w.o a lot of rogue/sneak loss too, 'kay?

I'd consider changing start stats to STR 17 (30), Dex 13 (you've stealth and ImpEvasion, and focus more on offense/AB instead ...

Rogue15/Cot6/WM19 - would lose (4d6) sneak (keep 8d6), and about -50 skill points, but gain +6 AB (2 from EWF/1 EP/and 3 from more WM, or ab't 45 naked, and making wm a very worthwhile invest.), and also a lot more HPs (about 440 w. ep toughness/wm 19 bonus feat, kinda imp. on a melee'r, 400 being sorta the min. on a melee'r, hence, really nice on a sneaker, yes? Drop IKD for Blind-Fight and while saves wld suffer a bit (-2 all-saves, and adj for dex), you keep ImpEvasion (and w. more HPs, not worried ab't refl. so much also, since don't need ESF:disc (top out your disc via WW instead), adj. to pick up ie EpFort (for 28 fort overall, or +2 more than (in dev.crit, that's the one to worry about - for will save, you've UMD and remember: clarity potions are just about everyone's best friend ...

Alt., if really set on lots of rogue and sneak, and want even more saves, then go more CoT maybe - say, 14 Cot/19 rogue/7 wm as you have now (i.e., 10 cot pre-ep, pushing your 7 wm to epics, and wld. allow you to take ie both IKD and BF and also heavy armor prof. (always nice to have, and AS not so imp. then), 4 more Cot in eps to top disc (as above, rather than wasting a feat on it, about 347 skills, 400-ish hps, 29 fort, 22 will and 32 refl (IE)), and take WF/EP for +3 ab (so, naked ab 42, not bad on a rogue heavy build, w. 10d6 sneak (and can bring it back to 12d6 w. rogue impr.sneak attacks, or, alt. take esf:hide and esf:m/s, or as you want ... )

just some ideas for you - now, as to a concept, heh, kinda a 007/James Bond type, yes?

sneak/save the queen on! ~ Tyr

p.s. Finn, vodka? heh, always took you for an ice wine kinda guy

Thanks for the fix on the title and for the input....I'll crunch some numbers and see what I can come up with...

I do really like some of the alternate suggestions...

You have given me food for thought...

I'll post a reply with an variant in a little while; however, if he's to radically different he might warrant a new post...

btw- in regards to the Vodka...If you are near Nashville, TN let me know and I'll hook you up
