This is the strength version of a build I designed for Badlands 3201 http://www.badlands.tk/.) The builds are built for 40v40 PvP but should be fairly easy to level (paladins usually are).

The Strength version (compared to the dexterity version Click Here makes a slight sacrifice to AB and Fort in exchange for superior skills and better damage output, including Crippling Strike. Its AC is fairly solid but depends on Divine Shield. It is built Elf for keen senses/modal detect.

Out of curiousity, is there any point to PDK except for being a PDK?

It's nice to see you're still alive Ithacan.

Well, I've got to say, aside from the build, I think it's the first Purple Dragon Knight build in the forum, at least the first one I've seen (well, pair of builds, to be precise). It seems the new class wasn't liked around here.

Anyway, the build looks nice, I obviously prefer the STR based build, I always do. I'm not really certain ESF Concentration is really worth it, can't you get Improved Evasion instead? I'd say it's a lot better.

Edwin Odesseiron - Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn Well, I have to admit that the Badlands staff decided that PDK was completely useless, so they took the buffs and made them a bit better (longer lasting) to make the class worth using. And I also have to say, they succeeded.

I thought it was weird that not one build on the build search machine had PDK but when you remind me of how it actually was implemented (rather than our tweaks), I recall why that would be.

Yeah, hey, Thax, good to see you

Strength builds always have an edge, given how knockdown can affect your mortality and disarm your livelihood. But concentration in 40v40 PvP is underrated.

But, of course, build to taste. All of these builds should be viewed with an eye towards the way you play and the world you play in. It's no good to build an awesome cornersneaking build if you really like toe-to-toe melee.

Cheers,

Ithacan

Well, well, well, if it isn't ole Ithacan. The Paladin/Rogue savant. Welcome back, laddie, been a long while. Now I see where you've been hiding, too. Interesting. And you brought the first PDK builds to grace the Guild.

I was going to say these look good, but then I see that you called them Death Knights. Maybe I'm dating myself, and I can only blame NWN since they didn't include Death Knights in the game, but Paladin/Rogue/PDKs are not Death Knights, shining or no. This guy is more of a Purple People Eater.

I'm interested in what changes they made to the class. If you can, PM the details.

Purple People Sneaker?

I'll go with that, if any admin wants to change it. Cheers, Grizzled One. It is sort of laughable to track my fascination with paladin rogues on search engine.

-Increased Oath of Wrath duration to 10 rounds per PDK level.
-Changed Oath of Wrath damage type to Divine
-Changed "Final Stand" to a 10d10 bonus hit points to all allies
-Changed the damage type from Inspiring to be slashing over bludgeoning for the sake of undead shapes. Duration increased to five minutes (50 rounds)
-Changed rallying cry to a 4 minute (40 round) duration, and increase the + to attack bonus to +2 over +1
-Left PDK shield ability as is, for balance purposes.

And, of course, it has melee class AB progression in pre-epic, and fortitude as its primary save, and discipline as a class skill. So people do build towards it.
