Hi all
..ok some of you are getting mixed up with “Forums” “Threads””Topics” etc…
example…

Bioware…For Everyone – NWN General Discussion..forum
Bioware…NWN Server Admin…..forum
Bioware..Builders – NWN Toolset…forum
Epic Character Builder,s Guild…forum…etc.etc.etc.

In the Guild forum are 5 “Threads”..as follows..
1-General Discussion…thread
2-Build Request ((Forum))thread(I think Anuis is mistaken here)
3-PRC Epic Character Builds..thread
4-PrC General Discussion..thread
5-Epic Character Builds…thread

in each Thread are Topics eg….

Epic Character Builds

.Mr Nice Guy /Nice 10/Really Nice 15/Extremely Nice 15 topic

General Discussion….

HELP My Weapon Sucks topic ..etc. etc. etc.

and obviously in the topics are posts

hope I did,nt bore you all to much
I,m certain the above guide is correct..(if I,m wrong I,m sure someone will say)

Epic Character Builds

.Mr Nice Guy /Nice 10/Really Nice 15/Extremely Nice 15 topic

I tried tat build once , found he was a little one dimensional. All nice and no bad.

EDIT BTW when you post a message
Quote:
Go to the forum you were reading

If you click it it returns you to the thread and not the forum. Wierd that. No wonder we are confused.

Yes very true (I,d forgotten about that)..no wonder people are confused
That is indeed Weird, my guess is the Bio web guy,s don,t even know about it.

griphook Actually, it is not wrong...

Forum is where you place topics into and thread is about the topic.

Forum
Topic
Thread - Posts about the topic.

And the thread is another name for posts... Basically thread is like posts that is about another posts and so on... basically making a long "string" that is connected to Topic.

At least that is the way I think it as.

Actually if you look at the set up off the above list and you follow logically the last one doesnt fit , since the others all follow a format that the forum is the last level before you get to the actual posts. The last example has more step to make it should read

Epic Character Builder's Guild - General Discussion - Forum

At least IMO.

Syrath This is gonna be fun...i,ll get back to both of you If you look at the top of this page you see the following

Home
Guild/Registry Home
Epic character builders
General Discussion
"forum - Thread - Topic"

Since at the bottom of the page you have the option to start a new topic we can safely say that "forum - thread - topic" is a new topic.

General Discussion is a forum in the Epic character Builders guild.

Guild Registry home is nothing to do with the forums but are links to the guilds.

From my past experience of the various forums I have been on thread and topic are the same thing. You post a new topic and a thread comes from that when people start replying. However if you post a topic and no-one answers there is no thread since it remains just a topic. Either that or people just arent talking to you cause you have bad breath or something

This is my understanding of it.

That was what I thought. From the other forums that I have been to, it has been mainly Forum - Topic - Thread.

One of example that I can think of is Evernight(NOT EVERQUEST). And I still play Evernight...

Correct…

Ok if I click the “new topic” at the bottom of this page, and make a new topic
Where does it go…it joins a long list of other topics…Where…in the
General Discussion “Thread” in the Epic Character Builders Guild “Forum”.

Quote:  General Discussion is a forum in the Epic character Builders guild.

nope….General Discussion is a “Thread” in the Epic Character Builders Guild ”Forum”

Problem B Missing word “Threads” in drop down list
The Fix… Bioware Add The Darn Word Threads to the drop down list.

Actually General Discussion is also a forum. A thread is definitely what comes from a post.

An example of this can be found here

http://www.thescoutssanctuary.com/

Note how the website writer has point you to go look at "this thread" , when you link it you get someones post and their replies. This is a thread.

You can have parent forums ie within the Epic Character Builders forum you have the General Discussion forum.

If you wish I can provide more than the above example as examples. I am definitely answering to a thread at the moment.

You will also see the bioware mods and devs referring to locking down a thread because it was off topic. They rarely refer to it as a topic.

Syrath A bioware example

Look at the last post by GZ, where he tells us this thread can die.

Hmm.. i didn,t figure on that..
Although it can also work as above.
Just forget about the DARN Parent Forums

(I,m so used to doing it as above i don,t think i can change)

BTW ..don,t forget bioware staff can also make mistakes,
...it,s only human

..hmmm only human....NO dont tell me..
bioware staff are damn HALF - ORC,S

Neverwinter nights – forum

Bioware…For Everyone – NWN General Discussion..thread
Bioware…NWN Server Admin…..thread
Bioware..Builders – NWN Toolset…thread

BTW I have the final piece of evidence to put this one to rest.

http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/

Now look at the top of the page and you will see the following

Forum Index
This implies that what is below is an index of forums .

So NWN General Discussion and the rest are all definitely Forums and not threads.

Syrath Ok, what is this all about?

Please, put an end to this nonsense now. Please, let us get back to what we do best-- build character ideas and constructively re-build them. PLZ PLZ PLZ!

(sorry i have no idea what the point of this is? it seems that people are havin trouble posting??) I beg you to close this topic, and to have anyone who brings it up again, given 100000000 slashes with the "Great wet noodle of Silliness" +22 (1d2 +(-50) with +10 to ab).

peace You completely forgot the 10d6 sneak damage, since its a rogue only weapon.
