I just noticed something strange about monks.

At level 18 they get empty body = 50% concealment

An epic monk can choose "self concealment 10%-50%" as one of his epic feats. However, it says to a maximum of 50%.

So what is the scoop:

1) Empty body and SC stack (i.e. 90% conceal is possible).
2) Self conceal as an epic feat is useless and unuseable for a monk.

Cause neither one sounds quite right... Epic feat SC V is perminant, 50% conceal. Empty body is round-based 50% concealment usable 3 times per day. In short; if you can win your battle in a few rounds, the monk Empty Body is ok; if not SC V prolly better. Has been discussed before.

They don't stack.

Empty body is more like "improved invisibility" I don't remember the duration but I would guess it's 1 round/level. Concealment doesnt stack. So for a PC 50 percent is max.

SC5 is permanent.

Empty Body is temporary (however it has a reasonable duration).

SC5 is a permanent ability and is very effective with epic dodge

-DaMouse Self conceal can be worth it a lot of the time, but its still a big sacrifice in favour of other feats, especially considering that imp invis has essentially the same effect but can be dispelled. Self concealment is awesome, but it also has a high price - to get all the DEX required I guess you will need to use 7-8 epic feats to get SC 5. Took me 2 great dex feats and 5 levels of SD to get the prereqs for it.. as a monk..

-DaMouse How does true-seeing affect the various types of self-concealment?

Improved invis, epic feats, monk feat

thx! Truesight does not affect concealment.
