What epic build gives you the highest armor class?

What epic build gives you the highest attack bonus?

Please do not include any items or weapons stats for this reply.

Click Here I'm just guessin here.. but a bard/pm/rdd for highest AC.

For highest AB? Im thinkin its gotta be either a ftr/wm type character or a ftr/bard1/aa build

But remember, these are just guesses

I'd say definitely the Arcane Archer one for highest AB. Weapon Master can give you at most +7AB (on top of the normal 1 BAB/level pre-epic) whereas arcane archer can give you +15. A Fighter(6-9)/Bard(1-4)/Arcane Archer(30) can get a naked AB of 63 with a mundane bow. Of course, if you include buffing builds, you might be able to squeeze out a higher "naked" AB, but I have a feeling that wasn't what the poster had in mind.

The PM/RDD would be my guess for highest AC also.

Steve For AC, I'd guess wizard 3/monk 9/PM 28, halfling say base attributes,
STR 6
DEX 18
CON 9
WIS 17
INT 14
CHA 8
all ten attributes bonuses go to DEX and take 5 great dex feats to end up with a 33 DEX. For other feats take dodge, epic spell:epic mage armor, empower spell, expertise, improved expertise and armor skin. Make sure you take tumble to 40

Your base AC would be
10
+1 Small Stature
+1 Monk AC bonus
+3 Wisdom Bonus
+11 Dexterity Bonus
+1 Dodge
+2 Armor Skin
+16 PM bonus
+8 Tumble
53 Base

Now add on mage armor, empowered Owl's Wisdom (+7), empowered Cat's Grace (+7), epic mage armor, haste and improved expertise for
+1 mage armor
+4 Haste
+4 cat's grace
+4 owls wisdom
+20 mage armor
+10 improved expertise
96 Total

For AB, Fighter 9/Wizard 2/AA 29. 63 AB and with true strike an 83 AB.

WOW myth, nice post!
proves that a spellsword is kinda the best at everything! Thank you for this build. I am going to try it out.

Click Here Myth's right about the palemaster. We tried it out on Athas Reborn, problem is it's dreadfully low on offense, and now that palemaster spell progression is nerfed, it cannot cast the way it use to. I know it's been done, but a Druid14 monk1 wizard25 with dragonshape could pull off a painfully high AC. Add the above buffs and epic mage armor and it goes pretty high while maintaining good offense. hell. you could even drop the fairly useless 2 wizard.. add 1 druid and 1 monk and take the build on the epic character builds page *hates self for the sarcasm*

-DaMouse If we're talking AC here, then this build is not too shabby either:

Bard11/Cleric1/PM28, elf, non good, non lawful.
Str 13
Dex 18 -> 31
Con 6
Int 13
Wis 8
Cha 16 -> 19

Feats: dodge, power attack, empower spell, expertise, improved expertise, divine shield, curse song, armor skin, great dex VI, epic mage armor (and 5 more PM bonus feats).
Skills: Tumble 40, perform 14 (18)
Spells: Epic mage armor, mage armor, empowered cat's grace, empowered eagles splendor, haste.
Equipment: Robe, mundane tower shield

Naked:
10 base
+1 dodge
+10 dex
+2 armor skin
+8 tumble
+16 PM
=47
Spells and active feats:
+20 E mage armor
+1 mage armor
+4 haste
+4 empowered cat's grace (+7)
+8 divine shield with empowered eagles splendor (+7)
+10 improved expertise
+2 bard song
=96
Items:
+3 mundane tower shield
=99

Now, add the effect of curse song lowering the enemy AB by 2, being equal to an AC increase of +2:
+2
=101 breaking the 100 barrier

*cough* I am alittle confused. In the past, I thought that epic mage armor was 20 ac made up or 4 different types of ac (or something like that). SO if you had 5 from dodge, for example, epic mage only increase ac by 15 (it will not stack). I may be wrong however, and your ac will still be in the mid 90s, which is dam impressive.

Nice touch mike! Divine shield is a nice addition. Makes me think of what a charisma based cleric/bard/pm could do.

Peace mmph.. me too.. *opens up char builder* mmmmm yummy yummy

-DaMouse oh.. and your one example of dodge AC.. uhm.. dodge AC does stack to the 20 cap.. divine shield is dodge AC and the four armor types are Deflection, Natural, Armor and Dodge non of which bar dodge (which stacks) is used up in another other way bar the standard mage armor spell but of course.. that only gives 1 of each type and thus the 5AC variants override and the 5AC dodge stacks with the 1AC dodge to make 6AC dodge which stacks with divine shield to go BOOOMMM.. haste is also dodge ac.. so is undeaths eternal foe..

-DaMouse congrats DaMouse
I make that +18 Dodge AC, +20 if the bardsong bonus is also Dodge AC
Don't think I've seen a build that close to the Dodge AC cap before
imagine turning down magic items because you don't need more Dodge AC

Teaching men a lesson in combat etiquette. Yeah I think bard song is.. I can get a +20 cap easy..
Sorc 35 Paladin 3 Monk 2.. take divine shield..

Haste = 4
Epic Mage Armor = 5
Charisma is like 30 so that's +10 from divine shield right there. Add on another 2 from maxed eagles splendor and that's +11 because you've capped out

-DaMouse I made the build so that the dodge AC should add up to the 20 cap. Divine shield and bard song are both dodge AC.
Not 100% sure if the dodge feat itself is included in this 20 cap or not. If so, the correct AC is "only" 100.

Edit: I did build the character in a lvl up mod. It's legal. On the char screen it says AC 98, but dodge is not counted there, and neither is the effect of curse song. I tested it briefly against a very strong opponent. When I read the log afterwards he had missed on a 97 attack, and hit on a 105 attack. Further testing is needed to see if he hits on a 99 attack or not.

You could use scrolls of interposing hand to lower their AB by 10

There is a number of spells that debiliate the opponent. I didn't want to take that into account here.

In that respect even curse song is borderline, but I brought it into the equation because it has become custom to do so with bard builds...and because it makes the build hit the 100 AC mark

I generally avoid temptation, unless I can't resist it... If you do a search, you should be able to find a post by cdaulepp where he describes a character with 137 or more AC (can't recall the exact number). I'll see if I can find a link to it, as I don't recall if that was with +20 items or not.

BTW, how certain is everyone that Divine Shield is Dodge AC?

Thanks for clearin all my confusion! I play clerics alot and always get frustrated when you cast a defense spell and you get the yellow message "ac bonus will not stack". I am guessin i had a brain fart when i typed dodge ac, as i was tryin to remember the differnt types of AC there are, and the first one that came to mind was dodge. Its great to have great minds to clear that up.

Peace Yeah.. it'd be great if we had great minds... unfortunately I decided to answer first

-DaMouse Thanks for the continued post. I am going to make the last one now and see how it works out. I will post a report soon.
