Could someone tell if you need to take automatic still spell III with a bard who wants to wear heavy armour at say level 21? Or can you stop at automatic still spell II as they only have 6 levels of spells? Bards cannot take autostill feats, sorry. The best you can manage is to Still your 5th level spells, or if you have an item that grants bonus 7th level slots, then you may be able to Still the 6th.

Ariel, Ookla, RIDE! The good news is that some of the best and most common spells don't suffer from armour related spell failure. Can't remember them all but they include darkness, warcry, displacement and possibly improved invis, but you can use scrolls for any spell you like regardless of any armour failure % You can hovever qualify for the autostill I & II feats without needing the III:d by taking 17 levels of cleric. In that (very special) case autostill II is enough. Quite fun too. So far I think I'm the only one nutty enough to make such a build. A Pale Master, I think, qualifies for AutoStill at level 15+. Not tested, however!

Actually, he can get on his first bonus feat provided you meet the spellcasting requirements.

Yes. What I meant was that since a PM qualifies for epic spells at 15, maybe he qualifies for AutoStill too. Apparently he doesn't.

Automatic Still Spell requires level 9 spell casting, the epic spells do not. A bard however can take Automatic Still Spell (as normal feat but not as bonus feat) if he (somehow) manages to get level 9 spell casting from another class. Bard(23)/Cleric(17) for example.

Doesn't a PM qualify for epic spells as long as he meets the prerequisites for it and not depending on his level? An epic spell feat in it self only has one prequisite: a specific number of spell craft ranks (and nothing else). However the epic spells aren't 'every class can take' feats. So for a class to take an epic spell feat it must appear on the (bonus) feat list of that class. Optionally this list can contain a minimal class level required to take the feat. For PMs this minimal class level is 15 and for the other spell casters (wizard, sorcerer, cleric, druid) it's 21.
