To use a level 9 scroll, what level of UMD is needed? I heard it goes in increments of 5.

. . .

Actually, can someone just lay out the whole thing for me? Like what you can use with 5 ranks, then 10, then 15 (etc.)

Sorry for asking, but I dont know where to find out I take it that you mean the item value. You can find the chart in the Grimoire.

As for casting spells, the DC - if you're playing in Hardcore mode or higher - is 25 + spell level.

Why am I learning of this only now!? *smacks Fin* Well, you can only be informed of the Grimoire's existence if you know the secret handshake. And since Finn's revealed it to you without authorization, he'll have to be... dealt with. With extreme prejudice.

What, I'm not allowed even one slip? Though I guess that was my third or so first time Please have mercy, master Din!

Ha! Now that Fin is to be killed, all that is left to do is slay Din! Then I shall have the secret all to my self!

Hey Okembour, since fin and din are going to be rubbed out, maybe we should take their place as moderators . Or better yet, assume their identities completely!

AAAAAAAGGGHHHH... wha? Oh that wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Oh well, got to get to my grade 3 math class. Today we're learning how to do long ranged division! It is March 1994, right?

Edited By Big Meph on 06/06/06 03:26

Grade 3? Hmmmm, that would put me back to 1972, I believe.

Not meaning to be insulting (although I'm damn sure it will come out that way ), but your that old!?! Forget I asked that...

Just out of curiousity, if you don't mind my asking, when did you start playing?

Probably when the Chainmail came out

I'm sure that's quite funny Fin, but I haven't been playing long enough to get the reference. Sorry...

That's what you had *gasp!* before D&D! It came out in '70 IIRC, and the first D&D game in '74. 'Twas a war game really, not an RPG, but nevertheless.

And, FYI, I haven't been playing that long either, I've only seen 18 summers

Yeah, I'm that old. I first picked up D&D in 1977. It came in a small blue box with a little booklet of rules and 6 plastic dice of various colors (dark brown d4, light brown d6, light blue d8, light brown d10, orange-ish d12, and light brown d20) and you you had to color on them with a crayon to fill in the numbers or they'd be pretty tough to read, especially on the d20. Back then, Elf and Dwarf were classes.

That's exactly how long I have been playing this great game called life.

That aside, I've been playing rpg's since '88. The year Finn came along.

I wasn't saying that your old, just that I hadn't been playing all that long... I started playing NWN about 4 years ago (although my computer was grossly underequipped for such a task... getting about two frames a second), but I only started taking an interest in D&D about half a year ago.

Bah! No Dragons or anything, boring as hell... Besides, Oblivion has better graphics!

I've played NWN about... I dunno... 5 months now and I have been playing D&D for 3-4 years I think. RPG's though have been an interest of mine since 1999, I think I was 8
