Could someone explain dispell for me? I have read time and again that 26 caster levels puts you beyond dispelling, but, truthfully, I haven't a clue as to why.
Thanks in advance, Dal
Greater Dispelling attempts to strip all magical effects from a single target. It can also target a group of creatures, attempting to remove the most powerful spell effect from each creature. To remove an effect, the caster makes a dispel check of 1d20, +1 per caster level (to a maximum of +15) against a DC of 11 + the spell effect's caster level.
Casters with 25 caster levels are immune to Greater Dispelling. Dispeller's best roll is 20+15=35 vs 11+25=36.
Casters with 20 caster levels are immune to Dispel Magic. Dispeller's best roll is 20+10=30 vs 11+20=31.
Casters with 15 caster levels are immune to Lesser Dispel. Dispeller's best roll is 20+5=25 vs 11+15=26. _________________ The curve is more powerful than the sword -- BG courtesan
Ah, I see now. Thank you Mick!

What about the Spell Breaches and Mordakeins Disjunction? There is no way to become immune to those, correct? I haven't played a caster in a while, so I don't remember the spell descriptions.
And how does it work for counterspelling? Can Lesser Dispell counter spells of its level and lower? Or any level of spells?
How does it work...
And can you counterspell with scrolls?

Nope, no protection against breaches or mords (apart killing the caster or disappearing as a target before they are cast )
Counterspell on the wiki should answer your other questions. _________________ Heavy metal Or no metal at all Whimps and posers Leave the hall!
