Quick question. While browsing through NwN.wiki, I was looking at the feat called Diamond Soul and saw that it add Spell Resistance equal to the characters level + 10. So if I were to wait and get the 12th level of monk at level 40, would it drastically improve my Spell Resistance?

You can't kill what was simply never there. . . It's based on your Monk level, so you don't have to wait to get the SR. Any other class level will not affect it.

Monk SR also won't stack with any other type of SR, it cannot be decreased or increased once you get it.

Thax the Shadow Dragon sez: MONKS USE KAMAS. Just ask him.
Hrm... so would that be cost me in the end?

You can't kill what was simply never there. . . Since it's a freebee to get at level 12. The cost is nothing. You CAN increase it when you are Epic by taking Improved Spell Resistance. Doesn't the character need to be epic in the Monk class to take Imp SR, despite what the manual says?

It's rogue, dammit, ROGUE!!! Wiki says it requires an Epic Character and Diamond Soul as pre-reqs. Nothing about being an Epic Monk.

*shrug*

I have not tested this tho. Nor have I (you know my feelings on Monks). It's just that something in the back of my head told me I'd read that somewhere. I could easily be wrong.

It's rogue, dammit, ROGUE!!! You can take your first ISR at monk level 12 (assuming an epic character). Note that I wouldn't bother with ISR such a low level monk. If you are going to end up with less than 20 monk levels, even with a few SR feats you still will be too low to protect against any but low-level mages.

TM Actually an exception may be made for shifted shapes like undead, construct, and outsider (SR = 49, thats at least a 10% spell failure from all level 40 characters) (5 Druid, 10 Shifter, 25 monk) as many epic feats like ability increases and epic weapon focus do not affect the stats, so you really wouldn't lose too much by taking ISR.
