The "Bishop of Raziel" is a BattleCleric melee version of the same idea I did in the Divine Thunderbolt; the desire being to deal out high amounts of divine damage using two of my favorite feats; Holy Martial Strike, and Epic Divine Might. This build fights well with that, and also adds 7th level Cleric spells for massive buffs and an occasional offensive spellcasting when straight melee wont do. Maybe one day I'll get around to a more traditional Paladin version, but. . .naah. These variations are more fun to me.

I see this guy with a WarHammer in hand, pounding evil into the dirt.. But for the crit-happy types among us all, a Scimitar works just fine too.

The "Bishop of Raziel"
Human 12/10/18 Cleric / FistOfRaziel / COT

Str 14 (21)
Dex 8
Con 10
Int 14
Wis 16 (17)
Cha 14 (22)

Cleric Domains: I choose Earth and Trickery, because I like the extra buffs. War, Strength, Magic, and Travel are all good as well, depending on the level of magic you play at. To me, with the buffs I get from 7th level Cleric spells, the benefits of War and Strength domains arent that impressive (I can max add > +20 to his AB and damage with buffs without those domains).

1 Cleric - Pow Attack, Extra Turning
2 Cleric
3 Cleric Div Might
4 Cleric - Str(15)
5 Cleric
6 Cleric - Extend Spell
7 Cleric
8 Cleric - Str(16)
9 FistofR - WF(Warhammer or Scimitar)

38 COT
39 Cleric - Epic Divine Might
40 COT - Cha(22), ArmorSkin***

*** COT Bonus feats. Other good choices are more Great Wisdoms, Called Shot, Disarm, Imp Expertise, etc

Saves (also add +8 due to Spellcraft)
-------
Fort 34
Reflex 26
Will 31

AC 25 (Plate Mail + LargeShield; FistOfRaziel should give +2AC from Magic Circle but its not showing) (Oddity; Fist of Raziel isnt supposd to use Tower Shield, but I saw no loss in doing so)

AB 37/32/27/22
Using Warhammer: d8 Crit 19-20x3

Has 15 Turn Undeads at 12 rounds each, for use with Epic Divine Might.
So for 180 rounds a day, he can do:
vs non-evil d8+5 + 12(Divine) = 21.5 Avg, 25 Max
vs Evil d8+5 + 12+2d6(Divine) = 38.5 Avg, 47 Max

Affect of Spell buffs on AB,AC,damage
------- -------- -------- --------
With buffs that last 1 Turn/level (ie 22 Turns not counting Extend Spell)
AC 39
AB 50/45/40/35 (confirmed roll, not screen)
Additional damage of 11 + (d6+6)Fire

With short-duration round/level buffs, you can get an AB as high as 63 (confirmed roll), along with another 11-12 more damage (mostly magical&divine).

Not to mention the long-term buffs of 33SR, 50% concealment, yada-yada-yada. Love those Cleric buffs.

And the 5 Smite Evils from FistOfRaziel, and the 1 from COT.

Skills
--------
Spot 17
Tumble 20
Spellcraft 40
Persuade 5
Lore 5
Heal 30
Discipline 43
Concentration 35

Build Comments
-----------------
The build is strong pre-epic, having all the major buffing levels early, plus a lot of COT bonus feats, plus FistOfRaziels Magic Circle at character level 9, giving Immunity to Mind. And it gets another big boost early in epic, with 7th level spells and Holy Martial Strike by level 24. It takes until late to get the most coveted Epic Divine Might, but normal Divine Might isnt TOO bad. . .

This build can change in quite a few ways. If you drop Int to 10, you can boost your Str and Charisma a point each, allowing you to achieve Epic Divine Might earlier, or increase your Charsma enugh to gather more divine damage/duration. You would lose some nice feats that I wanted though (Expertise, ImpKnockdown, etc), and a skill point loss as well

Another thing is that this build is quite capable of getting 9th level spells, since FistOfRaziel makes it the equivalent of a 22-level caster. If this is desired, I would recommend swapping around the 3 epic FistOfRaziel levels with 3 of the pre-epic COT levels. This would let you use the 1st 3 epic COT bonus feats to get Great Wisdoms, allowing 9th level spells by level 25. I ALMOST did this, but decided the usefulness of those spells wasnt worth it to me.

Pros
------
- Outstanding saves, even without the +8 from Spellcraft.
- Lots of Divine damage, even against non-evil.
- Great buffs & heals.
- Strong viable build throughout.

Cons
-------
- Has to buff up to be equal to a frontline fighter. Good thing he has Great Sanctuary.
- Best against Evil.

Shaft your con and raise WIS more.

Do Cleric 8 / Fist of Raziel 18 / CoT 14 instead. This will make you lose one CoT bonus feat, but gain two FoR bonus feats, stronger smite evil, and 2 more uses of it per day.

If you get WIS to 20 somehow, you could cast epic spells.

I thought I was ALREADY shafting Con by putting it at 10, since I see him as a melee character. But that would help raise Wisdom, and he does have a bunch of Healing in him to counter the loss in Con. . .

That build variation should work well too; it gives a little more casting levels to the build. As I said above, I didnt see a real usefullness to 9th level spells from a buffing/healing point of view, even though the build could get it asis. I figured I got more melee benefit from the feats. But on the other hand, it really irks me to have a build that can REACH 9th level and above, and not do it.

Is there any neat FistOfRaziel epic feat that I would really want? I thought I looked in-game and wasnt impressed, but maybe thats because I didnt meet the pre-reqs or something. COT has just about the best list of Epic feats, but both builds get a lot of those regardless. . .

Also remember COT has Great Wisdom as bonus feats. (being so short on feats, I'd reccomend Cleric 8 / FoR 10 / CoT 2 pre-epic, and then getting all your COT in epic for tons of feats; in fact, just being Cleric 8 / FoR 22 / CoT 10 might be even better... more feats.)

Also if you take something like "Silent Spell" you can load up your 9th lvl cleric spells with Silent Mass Heals =P

Anyway, Fist of Raziel Bonus Feats

Of those that would be most useful to you are: Great Charisma, Armor Skin, Epic Toughness, and Epic Weapon Focus.

Great Charisma may have been added for 2.2. If so, you would have to wait till 2.2 to use.

If Great Charisma is in for FistOfRaziel in 2.2

As shown by the relevent material i pasted from the fist's 2da file (in our CVS directory) it is already confirmed.

I said that ("it may have been added for 2.2") in that the maker of the class may have added those feats recently (i.e. they weren't always there but it was deemed by the person to be an applicable feat; since this imparticular class doesn't have (or didn't have) an epic progression at the time it was made.

EDIT: SHHHHHIIIIITTTTT. I accidentally edited your last post instead of posting a new one like I meant to. Goddangit. *looks all angry and pissed off* My first mistake of all times as a mod (and I'm a mod of a lot of forums ~_~)

Sorry for the major mistake, Xitooner, luckily you didn't add too much. Let me recap for everyone else what you (basically) said in a nutshell.

XITOONER:

(quotes lockindal); says: Lockindal, I already suggested to do that in above post.

Lock says: Oh.

Xitooner says: If indeed great charisma is in for fist of raziel for 2.2, I may have to update it as it would be a faster progression *and* meet the goals of doing massive divine damage to all alignments.

Maybe I'll even rename it to "pope" or "cardinal" of raziel.

Errr so yeah.... sorry so much about the edit, xitooner

I just saw this! No problem.

I'll be looking back at this guy again soon, now that you guys have released the latest PRC. But first, I have a really cool Ultimate Ranger build, and a Bonded Summoner one to post (too lotsa fun in these PRC classes). . . Then. . .one "Cardinal Of Raziel" coming up!

Here's my own revision (currently playing her on a PW)

Aasimar Cleric 11 / Fist of Raziel 19 / Champion of Torm 10
( NOTE: I would do Clr8/Raz22/CoT 10 except that neither CoT or fist of raziel get spellcraft as a class skill )

Starting:

16 str
08 dex
10 con
14 int
16 wis
16 cha

Pre-Epic: Clr 8 / Raziel 7 / CoT 5

Clr 1 – Power Attack
Clr 3 – Prof: Exotic
Clr 6 – Divine Might
Clr 8 / Raz 1 – Weapon Focus: Katana
Clr 8 / Raz 3 / CoT 1 – Extend Spell
Clr 8 / Raz 3 / CoT 2 – *Knockdown
Clr 8 / Raz 4 / CoT 3 – Divine Shield
Clr 8 / Raz 4 / CoT 4 – *Improved Knockdown
Clr 8 / Raz 5 / CoT 5 – Improved Critical: Katana
Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 5
--- epic (stats atm: 19 str 17 wis 17 cha)

Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 6 – Epic Weapon Focus: Katana, *Great WIS I (18 wis)
Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 8 – *Great WIS II (19 wis)
Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 9 – Great STR I (20 str), CHA up (18 cha)
Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 10 – Epic Prowess
Clr 9 / Raz 8 / CoT 10 – Great STR II (21 str)
Clr 9 / Raz 9 / CoT 10 = STR up (22 str)
Clr 9 / Raz 11 / CoT 10 – Great STR III (23 str)
Clr 9 / Raz 13 / CoT 10 – Great CHA I (19 cha), CHA up (20 cha)
Clr 9 / Raz 14 / CoT 10 – Great STR IV (24 str)
Clr 10 / Raz 16 / CoT 10 – CHA up (21 cha), *Epic Divine Might, Epic Skill Focus: Spellcraft
Clr 11 / Raz 18 / CoT 10 – Great STR V (25 str)
Clr 11 / Raz 19 / CoT 10 – Great CHA II (22 cha), STR up (26 str)

EDIT: Starting in 2.2c, epic divine shield will become available. This makes it more beneficial to either lose Epic Skill Focus: Spellcraft, or Great CHA II and get epic divine shield.

ENDING:
26 str
08 dex
10 con
14 int
19 wis
22 cha

Can cast lvl 9 cleric spells, has good strength, good charisma (can keep epic div might up for 12 rounds without any extra cha enhancements), good smiting ability, and uses my favorite weapon: the Katana.

Seems like a really fun build. I've been playing around with some of the monstrous races in the PRC since it came out, and an epic spell casting Yuan-Ti version of this build kind of caught my eye. I basically used your build above as a guide, but focused on scimitar instead of katana. I figure I'll wind up doing more damage in the end by having more crits which amplify my holy/darkfire/etc damage rather than fewer crits and higher base physical damage. Since Yuan-Ti lets me get away with fewer stat boosting feats than you I squeezed in both Epic Skill Focus: Spellcraft to aid with epic spells and Epic Divine Shield.

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated
Stat: (Yuan-Ti bonus for reference)
Str: 16 (+0)
Dex: 10 (+2)
Con: 14 (+0)
Int: 16 (+8)
Wis: 20 (+8)
Cha: 22 (+6)

Clr 1 – Power Attack
Clr 3 – Cleave
Clr 6 – Divine Might
Clr 8 / Raz 1 Weapon Focus: Scimitar
Clr 8 / Raz 3 / CoT 1 – Extend Spell
Clr 8 / Raz 3 / CoT 2 – *Knockdown
Clr 8 / Raz 4 / CoT 3 – Divine Shield
Clr 8 / Raz 4 / CoT 4 – *Improved Crit
Clr 8 / Raz 5 / CoT 5 – Improved KD
Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 5

--- epic (stats 20 str 20 wis 22 cha)

Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 6 – Epic Weapon Focus: Scim, Great Cha I
Clr 8 / Raz 7 / CoT 8 – Armor Skin
Clr 8 / Raz 8 / Cot 8 – Epic Divine Might
Clr 8 / Raz 8 / Cot 10 – Epic Prowess
clr 8/ raz 9/ cot 10 – Epic Divince Shield
Clr 9 / Raz 11 /Cot 10 – Epic Skill Focus: Spellcraft
Clr 9 / Raz 13 /Cot 10 - Great Cha

From here I mostly took Great Cha and Str feats to increase my damage output. Since the max bonus from divine might is 20, I took cha to ~24 for a +7 bonus. I can get the other 6 Cha needed to reach +10 from items and spells. My final level distribution was the same as yours.

Damage from Darkfire/Flame weapon is not multiplied on criticals. Ok, but the holy damage will be, which has some signifigance.
