I decided to have fun with the new races (this build would only work on single player unless your world allows Yuan-Ti) and built this char...

Race: Yuan-Ti

14 CON
24 WIS (28 WIS)
24 INT (30 INT) *you can raise INT first to get even more skill points, but it doesn't really matter when you raise the INT or WIS, so long as you only raise WIS or INT.
14 CHA

Alignment: Neutral Evil
Appearence: Yuan-Ti, Necromancer
Domains: <something>, Healing

Skills: Concentration, Lore, Spellcraft, Heal, Discipline (cc), Tumble (cc), Disable Trap (cc), Search (cc), and uh tons more. Kinda not lacking in skill points =p

Build: (can sub the spell focuses/tattoo focuses for whatever school you want, of course)

Cleric 1 - Extend Spell
Cleric 3 - Empower Spell
Wizard 3 - Spell Focus: Evocation
Mystic Theurge 3 - Greater Spell Focus: Evocation
Mystic Theurge 6 - Tattoo Focus: Evocation
Mystic Theurge 9 - Spell Penetration
Cleric 5 / Mystic Theurge 10 - Focused Spell Penetration: Evocation
Wizard 5 - Greater Spell Penetration

"Life builds you up just to tear you down." - 3rd Strike Nice. I played something similar with 2.1, but the race was human. Aren't mystic theurge bonus feats at 15, 21 and 27?

I did a 6wiz/4cleric/10MT split pre-epic. That gives you 3 attacks per round, and 4 with divine power. Makes for quite a nice tank, equipped in full plate mail and a tower shield. AC is insane on this build.

My domain preferences included plant, to get creeping doom, and magic, for call lightning.
