Most Liches start their lives as wizards who, in an effort to cheat death, cast off their mortal flesh and embrace the power of death. Free from the inhibitions of the living (hunger, thirst, fatigue, death) they can carry out their research and achieve greater leaves of power. Liches who achieve great power through armies of the dead and by wielding great magics are known as Lich Kings. Liches who were once clerics but have given into the power of darkness are called Unholy Lich Kings. However those rare Liches who were once clerics in life, yet retain their good nature and have achieved great power are known as Holy Lich Kings.

Advantages
The Holy Lich King has a vast knowledge of buffing spells and thanks to his high wisdom he may cast a vast number of spells per day. His wisdom also increases his AC, due to the feat ‘Monk’s Armour’ and his to hit, due to the feat ‘Intuitive Attack’. Along with his spell immunity and damage reduction this makes the Holy Lich King very hard to injure.

When buffed up the Holy Lich King’s naked AC rises to 55; his to hit becomes +55/ +52/ +49/ +46/ +43; his damage is 1-8 +6, +2 magical damage and his saves are fortitude =36, reflex =29, will =48.

Weaknesses
Low attack damage and 1 in 10 chance of a critical hit make an unbuffed Lich very weak in melee combat. Only knows a few offensive spells.

Unfortunately, this probably won't ever happen, because at present, it is impossible for a third party to code actual ability increases into a class, thus why the classes that get ability penalties and bonuses always have magical bonuses, and this probably won't change unless Wizards of the Coast stops being so asinine and restrictive about what Bioware can officially support. Its a pity they can't increase skill points in the same way that a 'Red Dragon Disiple' class increases them.
