Looking for a good build that utilizes the whip. I seen one a while back that intregued me but can't find it. If you have a good whip build or care to make one. Please Post. I would prefer to no have any caster type mixed in with it. So fighter types, rogue types or even a hybrid like CoT or dwd would be cool. I would preferr a fighter/wm/rogue build.

Take one of the 233 WM builds and change its WoC to Whip.

40: Hide(3), Move Silently(3), Tumble(3), If you want a lizard whipmaster, I think I'd use Bard as a 3rd class instead of Assassin. Bardsong (which works in shifted form) and Taunt will help to make up for the very low AB you are going to have.

Also, I recently built a Shifter Dwarf and was disappointed to find that the Dwarven Con Bonus didn't carry over once shifted, even in forms that don't override base Constitution (the Charisma penalty didn't carry over either, by the way). Human is the only race that gives benefits which don't get over-ridden by shifting, so there probably isn't much reason not to be one. Just make sure you aren't shifted when you level up or you won't get the extra skill point.

Yeah, I figured that out, and it sort of makes sense, sort of doesn't, but at the very least it came as a shock the first time I noticed it.

@the OP & Bromium: Just be warned that a gnome will have the same problems. *shakes fist* I warned you!! *wanders off to mutter profanity elsewhere*

(I enjoy writing parenthetically (a lot)). The racial bonuses DO apply when you want to qualify for any feat that requires a min stat, Epic Damage Reduction for instance.

In this case, since Epic Lizard already has 15/+5 DR you don't really need EDR unless you are facing +6 or better weapons. The build can be tailored to provide EDR if need be.

This build pumps up Con since STR and DEX are overridden and the other stats would not provide as much help on a melle focused build.

It's true that the AB on a Shifter will be horrible. The Assasin's spells can be used while shifted, so you'd have access to Darkness, Ghostly Visage, etc...

Some servers allow Assasins to get HIPS at level 8.

If the stun takes effect, then you're goign to continue doign sneak damage each shot with more chances at stuning. You also have the ability to stack special weapon features onto your whip. NOt sure if this is what you were talking about, but I think I was one of the few who did a whip build. Here's the link Click Here

Hope this helps.
