I'm interested in trying to play a very sneaky RDD. I would also like to have (of course) good AB and the PW is basically a +5 world which allows dev crit so a high fort is a must.

I'd like to play human, elf, or dwarf; and no wizards, clerics, or sorcerers. Oh, and evil, very, evil Lt me know if you need more info, thanks for the help! How about a dev crit throwing axe halfling bard/rdd? If you mean Jockeb's Axe Thrower v2, it seems like a really fun build. However, I'm looking for more of a character that approaches using a really high sneak, knocks you down, kills you, and then disappears into the sunset. Oh, and I should have said human, elf, half-elf, or dwarf is required more than preferred; as the rest are children in this PW.

Are you looking to do some crits, or are you looking to protect from crits?

Sounds like you want to focus on Sneak Damage for your main damage method. Doing crits would just be a bonus, but I'd like to have high enough fort to not have to worry about them too much. As for sneak damage as primary damage type, thats fine but not required. I just don't want them to see me coming. I would go 26 Ranger 4 Bard 10 RDD. You'd get great damage, and with Throwing Axes, no one would see you coming.

You wouldn't need to rely on sneaks, so you could stealth from as far away as you'd like. Sounds like Rogue/Bard/RDD (the last two classes are musts, since you want RDD and don't want SOR). Either that or Bard/RDD/BG. The former can get you a ton of sneak attack and Epic Dodge. The latter can get you a decent sneak attack and a better BAB.

But Ranger gives the spell bonuses to hide.

More important than sneaks imo, especially if he wants ranged (not sure if he does?).

Of course, build to taste.

That does squat for you if your opponent has maxed Listen (as I would).

Oh,there's an easy solution to that. Just use the Listen Bug to flat-foot him, even when he sees you. He'll leave you alone after that. Especially when you hit for about 50 damage a pop.

Also, Rangers can hit about 120 Move Silently when STR based, with their buffs, and all three feats + halfling/outdoors (figuring on maxed MS items). That's hard for most non-rangers to detect.

Or if they've got TS

If that's the case, sneak attacks are generally useless too (unless your opponent isn't the brightest). In which case, Bane > sneaks. I like the sound of the ranger RDD, and axe throwing is growing on me. Thanks guys, once I have a computer again I'll let you know how the build ends up.

No question! Your best bet.. Full BAB, Bane of Enemies and FE bonuses = UBER damage.
Ranged Sneaker with RDD seems a bit silly though. I have played several dex RDD's and I really don't find any logic in it. You get a few more AC and discipline but...
Not worth it.

You should try duel wielding kukris and taking dev crit!
Max HIDE/MS and work in as much Dex as you can. I would even gimp hps and ab in order to get more dex.

You are going to want Prowess, EWF, and Bane (Lvl 23, 25, 26 Ranger) While taking ESF:HIDE/MS, Overwelming, Dev,great DEX 2, possibly AS if you want ac, or 1 more feat of your choice. ESF: Spot?

You could alternately try 23 Ranger/2 Bard/15 RDD to gain 1 AC at the cost of 2 Epic Feats.

The above build posted by Mantis would be more PW friendly as you can get more skill dumps!

Hrmm. I would purchase tons of Silence potions from a Brew Potion Cleric. Or just transfer them from another character if you feel like cheating!

Throwing axes have no Mighty cap, so if your STR mod is +15, that's how much bonus damage you get. So RDD may not help your AB, but it will give you +4 base damage, along with the other very good RDD immunities/bonuses.

I guess if you really wanted sneak damage (something I try to avoid on ranged sneaks), you could go for a Ranger / Rogue / X (maybe Fighter for EWS). RDD is also nice to lug those heavy throwing axes around.

Yeah I have found that Ranged sneaks kinda suck if you rely on sneak attack daamge as you have to be within the 5 meter radius in order for you sneak damage to fire correctly. Thus making the whole build counter productive.

I suppose a ranged RDD Bane tank with throwing axes would work allright, but... I guess it all depends on the environment. Bags of holding, opponents, weapons available, etc.
