I know, from the title, it sounds so simple but I'm looking for a dev build that uses a longsword and has the best AB you can get. Up until now I've been using the cookie cutter dev build and I was looking for something a bit more impressive.

It can't have any caster levels, but semi-caster (bards, palis, and cot) are fine. Human or Half-Elf would be the best race.

Why not try this one: Click Here

Just follow the second posted build (about 8 posts down from the top) and adjust for longsword instead of Scythe. To do so, just lose exotic weapon proficiency at the first level and take your choice in its place (Great fortitude or luck of heroes are two good choices).

*sigh. At this point in nwn history, "the best" ab build IS a cookie cutter. To do it, you MUST take either wm or aa (no other options for best ab). Take 29 wm leaves 11 other lvls = cookie cutter.

A non-cookie cutter would be a bard/rdd/pm set for longsword! But that would kill the ab oh wait... thats cookie cutter too! This is a tough problem to solve... Maybe griz has the answer!

You should listen to avado

There aren't many ways to have a permanent high AB: AA for ranged, WM for melee.
The others relies on buffs or special conditions like Smite Evil Nice build but the AB would've dropped for me by 6 or 7 points. All I really want to do is tweak the build I have to pull out those extra few points of AB and whatever else I can, or so I have been told. Here's my build (which you've probably seen before). So I think I'll let you experts have at it.
14 Fighter, 25 Weapon Master, 1 Bard

16 STR (30)
16 CON (18)

Lvl 1: Ftr 1 Dodge, Weapon Focus: Scimitar, Great Fortitude
Lvl 2: Ftr 2 Mobility

Lvl 34: WM 22 Armor Skin*
Lvl 35: Ftr 13
Lvl 36: Ftr 14 Great STR V, Epic Weapon Specialization: Scimitar

*Denotes WM bonus feat

Well. 3 more WM levels give you another point, but you'll loose another feat. Going H-Orc and starting with 19 STR(or 20 if you wanna keep a feat) will increase it, but that will cost you hitpoints and Fort save, since INT will cost more. Also, dropping the two CON increases will of course increase it by 1. That's it, pal.

A H-Orc with 30 BAB, 36 STR and 28 levels of WM gets the best STR melee-AB out there (without buffs). AB will be 54, with +12 to STR and +5 weapon, it will be 64.

Why didn't you just post that build right from the start?

I wasn't thinking.

If you go with FTR 11 (or 10)/Bard 1 (or 2)/WM 28, starting with 17 STR and take all 7 Grt STR feats, you'll end with 34 STR, +4 AB from WF, EWF, and Epic Prowess (the latter two are WM epic bonus feats), for a total of +30 (BAB) + 4 (WF, EWF, EP) + 12 (STR) + 7 (WM levels) = +53 AB. You miss out on Epic Weapon Specialization this way though. If you really want EWS, then start with 16 STR, take 6 Grt STR feats, and you can grab EWS by taking FTR on a feat level in epic. You lose 1 AB for a final AB of +52.

Bard does not do any such thing. All you need to do is take your FTR 11 on a general epic feat level, and you can grab EWS.
