All, I've never played a monk before but I want to play one for the Aeilund Saga (I'm currently running through it with a WM). I would prefer to have at least 30 levels of monk. Doesn't matter if unarmed or kama. Don't know if I should go str/dex/wis route since I've never played before. I would prefer if this build (or a minor variation) could fit SOU/HoTU also. Thanks.
I know it only has 25 levels of monk instead of the 30 you asked for, but here's the monk build I played in the Aielund Saga, and I had a blast, Skilled Unarmed Specialist (Rogue 7 / Monk 25 / Fighter 8) .
As discussed in the thread, instead of those two Resist Energy feats at levels 15 and 18, take Lightning Reflexes and Great Fortitude.
Since you're already playing through the game, here's a minor spoiler, so you can avoid a mistake I made. In Act 2, make sure you visit the monk temple in the Valley of Silence past the dwarves stronghold for the best monk gear. I didn't, and so I missed out until I stumbled across it in Act 3 and they acted like I had been there before.
I am currently playing through a second time with an RDD, taking advantage of all the cool weapons and armor available.

Thanks to both. I actually like both builds...not sure which one I'll use, or go with a hybrid. Creating a character is almost as much fun as playing a charater.
